I think it's unfair to actual games to call Battletoads a challenge. It's a trial and error puzzle with more in common with kaizo rom hacks. Battletoads and Double Dragon, basically the same thing but with a human-friendly difficulty curve, almost feels like an apology from the developers.

The app store should have porn. I'm sick of American corporations' War on Breasts. These days the comedy bit would be "7 words you can't say on the App Store"

A MOD investigation found that hackers extracted 20,000 files from Mitsubishi Electric in January, 2020, and determined that 59 had sensitive information in them. The MOD issued a warning to them to improve their cyber security.

Japanese politicians in the past have made the case that having a nuclear deterrent would be legal, and the country has the material, tools, and knowledge to build a MIRV ICBM immediately if TSHTF. In general, the population is against war and nuclear weapons because of what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but I think that would change quickly if China invades Taiwan (for example).

I think it shows how much raw computing power we have now and how much we take it for granted. “What do you mean it couldn’t rotate sprites? Why didn’t they just rotate the sprites?”

The guy punching the other guy out is pretty iconic IMO

> The most powerful man in China is the Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

It's interesting to me that they allowed that to happen, both the US, with its civilian control of the military, and the Soviets, with their convoluted division of manpower, equipment, and commands, took measures to stop that situation from occurring.

A car’s autopilot braking in the nick of time to avoid an “invisible” obstacle is basically a perfect viral video, surely that would be a top post here and on Facebook and Reddit if it existed

If a kid running out to get their ball is a the standard example of a hazard that drivers should always be expecting on a residential road, I think a broken down vehicle is the standard example for a highway.

Maybe a human could have braked even a little bit, but the autopilot didn’t brake at all. That’s a problem for advocates for it

You have to have at least one road flare in your car in Japan or it won’t pass inspection

I counted three seconds from noticing the truck to hitting it. Three seconds of braking is a lot more than zero

Isn’t this the kind of situation where the autopilot is meant to slam your brakes on and make you think it’s magic?

Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky‘s work shows both the benefits and drawbacks of the swapping filters approach

The registration is with the police. The bike manufacturer just has to stamp a serial number on the frame

One part of it is you know what to look for and another part of it is SDTVs connected by composite cables (or worse!) hid a lot of jank

In my country the registration is a sticker but and the bike frame itself also has a serial number engraved

Evangelion is pretty polarizing, if you watch a couple of episodes and hate it , there’s nothing wrong with you.

1. If there’s a dead human nearby, what killed it may be there too

2. Don’t waste your energy, this person is dead

It’s used thoughtfully with an awareness of the limitations of special effects. The actual movie is good and exciting so there is no attempt to use CG as a bandaid on otherwise dull action sequences, “fix it in post”.

If wages kept up with productivity increases, there would be more than enough tax money to fund national pensions. Thanks for the insight, I’d never thought about it that way

I had a 2008 iMac HDD fail when it was barely out of warranty in either late 2009 or very early 2010 and was charged full price for the repair, then a "we'll recycle it for free" when my barely 1 year old iPod Touch decided to stop connecting via USB after updating it to iOS4.

In 2013 the same Apple store replaced a 3rd party stick of RAM in my iMac for an Apple one for free when I sent it to fix the bad hinge on that year's model.

My guess is that they back into parking spots to avoid that scenario

Beware that flashing your highs in Japan can mean “GTFO out of my lane”, and some drivers get really mad about it

OP learned how to drive stick from the technic set

At least analytics won’t be able to tell if you looked at the ad or not

I was too young to see T2 at the cinema and never got the big deal about T2 until I saw the theatrical cut uninterrupted in one sitting. The pacing is incredible, there literally isn’t a wasted minute. It must have been agonizing to cut and rearrange otherwise great material.

You need 5+ mods to the PC version of San Andreas before it looks and feels “right”. Look up SkyGFX for an example

> (BTW, I have no idea how to type ¥ in the terminal on macos with a Japanese keyboard)

fn+¥ works for me

This your punishment for disliking the YouTube rewind video!
