We are also impacted. Services still down.
skbohra123··on Show HN: Parikar, Read long form articles or blogs in a better, measurable way
UI's intention is to let you 'drop' reading anywhere and comeback to that point whenever you feel like.
skbohra123··on Show HN: Parikar, Read long form articles or blogs in a better, measurable way
Thanks for the feedback, the idea is to take the 'addiction' part of UIs like tiktok,IG reels etc. and use it for long form content, making people read more.
skbohra123··on Show HN: Parikar, Read long form articles or blogs in a better, measurable way
Thanks for the feedback, yeah that's the main idea behind the project. Glad that you find it useful.
skbohra123··on Show HN: Parikar, Read long form articles or blogs in a better, measurable way
Better in way that it's reading is free from distraction and you can control the speed at which you want to read.

I made some improvements based on the feedback received, looking forward to more comments.
skbohra123··on Show HN: Parikar, Read long form articles or blogs in a better, measurable way
Hi HN, creator here. This is a speed reading tool for longform articles, with speed control. I believe the conversational style UI, can make text reading better and you can come back to the later to read from where you left, it will automatically seek to that position. It also gives you exact time it will take you to read through whole article along with % of article you have read.

I am also experimenting with integrating various AI, APIs like text summarization, automatic tagging etc. to help user read in a better way.

Would love to hear more feedback.

skbohra123··on LED TV explodes killing teen in India
That's the thing I am trying to digest, how's it possible?
skbohra123··on Ask HN: Companies of one, what is your tech stack?
Have a Monitoring Solution product for Solar Plant. Stack - Django, Cassandra, Redis, KairosDB, Celery, Bootstrap, Jquery etc.
skbohra123··on Turn your phone into a space monitoring tool
Can become very popular if they link it with some kind of crypto mining, just keep your mobile phone at window and earn crypto!
skbohra123··on BookCrossing
One of the most interesting idea I have seen in a while. Gonna try it out.
skbohra123··on Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate?
I am looking to build an open road accident database and related API for India. Road accident/crash is huge problem in India and there is no open dataset available for realtime or historical crash data.

We would start by creating a web scrapper for news site to scrap crash related data and provide a searchable interface to query this data. This dataset can be used to provide realtime notifications for risky roads etc.

We can brainstorm on various ideas related to this problem. You can contact me, my email is in my profile.

skbohra123··on Ask HN: Show your failed projects and share a lesson you learned
My first failed project was Iddhis.com, an anti-social network where you can connect with only your close friends. Some media coverage here - https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/internet/iddhis-ai...

My second failed project was RingAd.net - an android app which gave you coupons for listening to advertisement jingles as your mobile ringtone. Some media coverage - http://www.sunday-guardian.com/investigation/download-a-free...

My third failed project was a Board/Card game, it also failed to pick up after initial buzz. https://yourstory.com/2014/06/geekybuddha/amp

skbohra123··on Colorado 'solar garden' is a farm under solar panels
In India government is encouraging this and have a scheme for farmers to setup solar plants and do farming together. The scheme is yet to pickup but good to see results like this.
skbohra123··on Ask HN: What was the biggest contributor to your happiness in the past year?
Living at farm and working remotely. I have found happiness and inner peace from the solitude and the lack of resources which I have been consuming without much thought.
skbohra123··on Automattic invests in Matrix
Reading the headline I thought Matrix is acquiring Automattic.
skbohra123··on Elementary OS 5.1 Hera
I have been using Elementary OS for a while. It's nice to use, but the biggest issue is that there is no way to upgrade it to a newer distro version when it comes.

I am stuck to elementary OS 0.4.1 Loki and only way to upgrade to the latest version is to reinstall the whole thing.

skbohra123··on Recreation.gov
There are definitely enough properties maintained by Indian and State governments here. Each state government has a tourism website where we can book some of these properties.

I found it recently and thought it's a great resource for booking govt. recreational properties in US. I wish something like this exist for our country.
skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
Temperature usually fluctuates between 45-50 in peak summer days. That is the time when you cannot do much outside, but people do work. Most people have air coolers or air-conditioners at home and work.

Nights are relatively cooler, but heat waves can continue till late night as well.

skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
All the time! Beds are always hotter here. Also the running water from the overhead tanks is so hot that it can burn your skin. With the India style bathrooms, you can imagine the horror.
skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
I would say less than 10%. Desert coolers are quite effective here, due to the no-humidity, which are way cheaper. I imagine, people who live here have the bodies adapted to it. Also, the house structures, food and other things have traditionally been developed keeping in mind the extreme heat, so I think that makes a lots of difference.
skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
It's hot here, but the humidity is almost 0%, which makes it bearable as compared to heat in cities like Chennai. Sweating is still efficient I would say, nights are certainly cooler in the area due to the sand dunes, which gets cooled quicker.
skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
Well, it's certainly tough. The heat wave makes it impossible to get outside. All you can do is stay indoors in air-conditioner.
skbohra123··on A Ferocious Heat in Delhi
I live in Phalodi. The place which recorded 51°Celsius, the highest temperature ever recorded in India. AMA!
skbohra123··on Is Vertical Farming Really the Future of Agriculture?
No.
skbohra123··on I Don’t Know How to Waste Time on the Internet Anymore
I think it's the age factor. No one makes friends in their 30s and no one is excited to find new things as they get older. If you ask younger people, they can tell you a 1000 ways to waste time on internet, be it instagram, snapchat or other such apps which grown-ups don't even know about.

You are just getting older.

skbohra123··on New Orleans man locked up nearly 8 years awaiting trial, then case gets tossed
Sadly, this is common in India. In India there are people in jail for decades, without even a trial[1].

There are just 15 judges per million people in India as compared to around 110 judges per million in US.
