sigkrieger··on Amazon defeated Rekognition shareholder revolt by a large margin
No offense here, just giving my thoughts.

Americans haven’t had privacy rights in a while and while the technology is new and fancy, American citizens haven’t been as free as they think they are in a while considering PRISM, border control checks that include your fingerprints and have the right to demand access your personal devices...

I believe they had never been asked whether or not they wanted to be born intelligent and I don’t see why should they be given the burden of fixing the world when the world, quite often, turned their backs on them.

I don’t see how its their responsibility or why it should be.

sigkrieger··on Intel 28-core fantasy vs. AMD 32-core reality
That’s only the 32core And perhaps 24core TR. the 8-16 will probably be lower than current due to node shrink.
sigkrieger··on Intel: We 'Forgot' to Mention 28-Core, 5-GHz CPU Demo Was Overclocked
At 250W you won’t see anywhere near the thermal output of that 2.7->5Ghz overclock on 28c/56T. There have been gpus with higher thermal output than 250W of the Amd’s cooled on air.
sigkrieger··on I wish mum's phone was never invented
I don't know whether it's okay or not. A teenager is more likely to be able to spend that downtime on something useful. Children, not as much. Whilst, I understand - more than most people - that we need alone time, I think that parents spend a lot more time on their phone, be it facebook, reddit, twitter, instagram etc, than they would like to admit.

I am sure they could sneak - if they already don't - some time on social media while the kids are playing on their own. For a kid, time with their parents is integral for growing up and having a healthy relationship with them. Most kids however don't get to experience it.

Additionally, time spend on facebook and social media has correlation with depression and stress. I don't think this is the best environment for a kid to be brought up.

Boredom is a source of creativity, or so I remember after an article I read. In all honesty, I have experienced it and some of my most profound(?) ideas came while I was bored.
sigkrieger··on Open source tutorial for Hackintosh installation
At the time, I wanted a gaming pc, 2-3 years later I wanted something to work with and Hackintosh worked surprisingly well. Besides some caveats, I am more than impressed.

My system has an i5 4590,16GB ram and an r9 380. At the time, something along these lines would have cost me double. Plus, this PC was a wip.

sigkrieger··on Employers are monitoring computers, toilet breaks, even emotions
This heavily depends on the environment and the culture of a company | department. In my experience, managers that actually do care about their employees tend to have much better results than the opposite.
sigkrieger··on Employers are monitoring computers, toilet breaks, even emotions
This assumes that somebody actually cares, if they do, they would know that already by asking.
