sidyapa··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025)
I vibe coded a chrome extension that highlights new links on HN frontpage since your last visit, so that you dont have to waste time looking for which links are new.

sidyapa··on MacBook Air M1 screen crack for no apparent reason
I have another issue. Randomly my M1 Macbook Air's frames drop below 20fps and I can see a trail behind the cursor and when I swipe between diff apps. Happens quite regularly with cpu idling at 97% and 6-7gb of memory left unused
sidyapa··on Woice.me – async voice communication for teams: work, at your own pace
Yes, please, yes.

It doesn't matter what anybody says, if some users love you and it is sustainable then keep building and make it a big success. Don't listen to the weirdo-naysayers here.

sidyapa··on Ask HN: Why is no one hiring me?
That's really good advice, thanks a lot, will make changes accordingly.
sidyapa··on Ask HN: What is your “I don't care if this succeeds” project?
https://wantfuel.com - a simple website for investors to find startups looking for funding

I thought it's absolutely nuts that something simple and straightforward like this doesn't exist yet, so I built it

sidyapa··on Chrome exempts Google sites from user site data settings
A tangent but, a lot of google's sites disobey browser standards and rules like for example sound autoplay on load. When you visit https://santatracker.google.com/ or youtube, it automatically plays sound without any user interaction, which is impossible for non Google sites to do
sidyapa··on Feds may target Google's Chrome browser for breakup
How would an argument against Chrome this even hold up? Google has decoupled the technology from the distribution. The chromium browser is open source, any body can build on it and many companies have. The platform where chrome is pre-installed doesn't prevent the use of other browsers and underlying technologies unlike Apple. How does consumer preference make one a monopoly when moving away from chrome is not difficult at all as you have no lock-ins
sidyapa··on I'm Peter Roberts, immigration attorney who does work for YC and startups. AMA
Hi Peter! If YC accepts a company from a south asian country like India and the founders decide to relocate their company to the US, what does the visa/immigration process look like for them?
sidyapa··on Ask HN: Essential skill needed to be a programmer?
"The want to create something"
sidyapa··on [dead]
Haha!
sidyapa··on [dead]
Thank you :)
sidyapa··on Ask HN: Which domain registrar do you recommend?
Porkbun

1. No questions asked 48 hour cancellation 2. Free WHOIS 3. Cheapest in most TLDs 4. Most user friendly Dashboard and processes 5. Plethora of payment options (crypto included)

sidyapa··on Show HN: I'm 15 and made a bedtime calculator with React JavaScript
Keep making stuff like these, this habit will be the biggest force multiplier in your life. I wish I had started so early. All the best.
sidyapa··on Ask HN: What are some available force multipliers that most people don't know?
Creating something. I am not a maker/creator but I have seen gazillion examples of people building/creating things that ultimately gives them an exponential push in life.

Creating can be blog posts, photographs, videos, software anything, doesn't matter as long as atleast one other benefits from it, just one.

sidyapa··on Ask HN: Best Way to Register Company HQ?
theres a lot of virtual address providers for specific cities. Not PMBs but proper addresses. One I can remember from the top of my head is da vinci virtual. search for their website, they charge you like $200 and give a lot of services
sidyapa··on Show HN: Giving away control of my life to my instagram followers
I got this crazy idea of people voting on Instagram on what I should do and do whatever is voted the most.

First thing I put out was whether I should quit my job and pursue my ideas full time or stay at my job and pursue my ideas in the free time. 52% voted the former and I quit my job.

This is a fun experiment I am doing, please participate if you can

sidyapa··on Tell HN: I am letting people on the Internet control my life
They decision is taken on the options I give them. If I give an option that is illegal or destructive that’d be my stupidity
sidyapa··on Tell HN: I am letting people on the Internet control my life
Why not?

Just a fun little experiment, nothing to lose :)

sidyapa··on Varanasi: India's city where people come to die
This is not the right place for provocative comments, your opinions are precious but this may hurt others', so please keep it to yourself or vent it out on forums like Reddit.
sidyapa··on Google Fights Back
Regarding that lady. I am from India and I see 100s of people everyday struggling with this exact problem, unable to read what's written. BUT as awesome the technology is it doesn't solve the advertised problem. The very same people, almost everyone I know/see are above the age of 20 and don't even bother to learn the language when they easily can from the $.01 books available almost everywhere. You can give them a tool but how will you give them the motivation?
sidyapa··on Spotify will now suspend or terminate accounts it finds are using ad blockers
This is a good move. Even though ads are annoying and frustrating at most times it is not anybody's birth-right to use a product/service for free and block their sources of revenue. If they have a pay-to-remove-ads option, use it.
sidyapa··on $190M missing after crypto exchange Quadriga CEO dies
I am from India and trust me, finding a public toilet is more difficult than faking a death certificate
sidyapa··on YouTube Music, a new music streaming service, is coming soon
Just a suggestion, why not just allow background playback instead of spending your millions on another streaming app which would be ideally better than competition in single digit %s?
