I restored my iPhone to factory settings which erased the OS and then re-installed the updated iOS11 (I was on iOS10). I restored the phone from my local backup, downloaded Uber and tried to sign-in with a new phone number, but still no luck.
The Uber app throws me back to the sign-up screen after signing up and entering my name, etc.
Uber support doesn't seem to care what the issue is and keeps telling that they can't do anything about it.
I don't have any other Uber apps installed on my phone, can get a new phone number to signup.
How is that fraudulent? I tried explaining the same to the Uber support, but they aren't ready to listen and keep replying with the same canned messages.
Once, we have success stories, more companies would be interested in implementing such programs.
Kudos to the initiative!
I have been to the US multiple times with a B1-Business Visa and didn't do any of this stuff. I just showed up and the customs officer asked a bunch of questions about my purpose of visit and that's about it. I didn't need any invitation letter or hotel bookings, etc.
Hotel bookings and a LOT of other documentation is required when applying for a tourist / business visa for Europe or UK, but traveling to the US has always been fairly straightforward (except that you need to make two visits the US embassy or consulate twice for the visa formalities).
At all times, I had my company laptop with all the data + source code.
Is this something that has recently begun?
However, you have to do this for each article, which takes some time.
Well... not as smooth a process, but the articles are long-ish and worthy of preservation on your Kindle.
I asked them for feedback and got the same reply that they can't provide any feedback (even after 3 rounds of interviews).
I reached out to the developer who interviewed me and after a couple of days, he replied back saying that Gigster doesn't allow him to provide any feedback!
Avoid interviewing with them, in my opinion.

I have been develioping web and mobile apps for about 6 years and now I want to create something for passive income.
Now I'm from a third-world country and can't afford to buy a $1000 phone every year, so I have to be careful with the life of my phone.
The turnaround this, I found, is to disallow location to the Uber app when not using the app and allowing access only when I use the app. This, however, is a pain and the Uber app behaves weird if I do so (the previous trip does not end after hours of it actually ending).
Very poor UX from Uber, potentially dangerous, definitely unethical. This is definitely a trend -- startups start with being caring of its customers, but once they grow big, they become callous and even malicious when it comes to users (I don't ask of them to give every customer personal support, but not mis-using customers is the least I can expect).
Also, how do you get around the step where the user is redirected to the bank page to enter the 3D secure pin / internet banking password / IPIN?
Mostly, in response of a Stripe webhook, one would want to do something based on the id. For instance, for a charge failed event, one would like to retrieve the customer for which the charge has failed and would retrieve the customer details from Stripe. Dummy values will not help here.
Just thinking aloud, how would one use this? I have been in need for something to test Stripe webhooks.
Situation: Number of people on the website. One of them chooses to start a room-chat with another targeted person. How can this be done ?
Also, what about security of the main database? How does the syncing take place?
