Comparing yourself with others.

Interesting tidbits:

- 150 million amazon prime users globally (equivalent to to combined france + germany population (or) half of US population). Impressive!!

- Rivian is integrating Alexa into its electric vehicle lineup, including its upcoming fleet of 100,000 all-electric Amazon delivery van. Amazon has made investments in Rivian. Going to compete with Tesla?

- Amazon Music has more than 55 million customers worldwide. Collectively, in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and Japan, Amazon Music customers have grown nearly 50% year-over-year;

- Prime Video received eight Golden Globe Award nominations, with Fleabag winning Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy, as well as Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, for Phoebe WallerBridge.

- AWS announced three Arm-based instances (M6g, C6g, R6g) powered by AWS’s new Graviton2 processors, that deliver up to 40% better price and performance than current x86 processor-based instances. Threat to intel?

- AWS announced the general availability of AWS Outposts, a fully-managed service that extends AWS infrastructure and services to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility. On-premises is gaining strength?

We used both stripe and paypal. Now we have consolidated everything to stripe. Larger payments we use paper checks and wire transfers. Pricing wise both paypal and stripe are not very different.if you process large amounts you can get discounts from both

AirSend is custom built to address communication use case cases across organization boundaries. For instance, you don’t need to switch across workspaces to communicate with different parties. Unlike Slack It also provides the file context and task context in the same conversation space.

With respect to interruptions/noise it doesn’t have any advantages over Slack.

The underlying premise (“ bring together the functions of several standalone apps“) seems more like our airsend app (https://www.airsend.io). Oh well :)

Try AirSend (https://www.airsend.io). We use it for group communication both for personal and professional use.

It is private. Create a channel and invite your friends. Thats it.

Disclaimer: I work for them.

I struggle with this as well. Now i prioritize all my tasks in my brain. Over the years tried quite a few systems: tiddly wiki, gtd, zero inbox and onenote. Nothing worked for me.

Hey thank you for your sincere reply. Felt touched. We use DO (not in a big way though). But it always has worked for us.

Just curious, why DO needs an outsider as ceo rather than somebody from founding team?

Lark looks very similar to what we are trying to accomplish with AirSend (https://www.airsend.io). I guess interesting days ahead.

ASFAIK, CCPA doesn’t cover data that comes under HIPAA Regulations.

Check 1798.145. Section 3 https://hq.services/blog/ccpa-full-text-with-amendments/

We make file sharing and sync platform with GDPR specific functionalities. In high level GDPR and the fines have forced companies to take inventory of PII data they have and also limit the collection and storage of them. Also companies have started appointing DPOs. Thats a welcome addition.

Really cool.

The thing i have learned this year is -"Deductive logic doesn't always work in complex systems - especially when it involves large number of people"

If you are looking for a commercial (not opensource) self-hosted dropbox alternative, FileCloud (https://www.getfilecloud.com) is great. It comes with great support and has clients for windows, mac and linux.

Full Disclosure: I work here.

Not necessarily for presentations. We are working on a new work-sharing and communication platform for professionals that offers document versioning , tracking, workflow and e-signature (https://airsend.io/). From our customer development interviews we have found out that the "work context" is the most important thing.

For majority of the users delta sync doesn’t bring much benefits . See here https://www.getfilecloud.com/blog/2017/03/myths-and-facts-ab...

Most of the modern files like office documents and pdfs are compressed. Delta Sync only will help in scenarios if you have bitmaps and vm disks.

Quite true and same time it is hilarious. Does anybody use aws workdocs?

We(FileCloud) compete with NextCloud in Self-Hosted EFSS space and part of Gartner MQ. We are seeing more and more government customers are asking for solutions that offer complete control over their data. We have large government and education customers in switzerland and Denmark.
