Hey, that one is interesting, somehow I have missed it. Thank you!

First impression. Muscle memory is a problem :(

Vim's j moves down.

Ki's j in line mode moves up...

Cannot figure how to create new file

I know, I use Emacs+Evil. I'm going to give Ki a try and, in case of success, to think about writing Ki binding for Emacs.

In my classification of editors:

1. Orthodox. Mostly focused on looks and integrations.

2. Modal, Vim improvement. Focus on keeping basic Vim keybindings with minor improvements.

3. Modal, rethinking Vim approach.

Ki falls into the third category which I constantly monitor.

I don't see that everything except Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Siberia and Antarctica was inhabitable. For instance in Eocene the climate remained fairly warm and homogeneous (the most uniform in the Cenozoic).

From the equator to the poles, forests grew. Fossilized remains of cypress and sequoia have been found on the Arctic Ellesmere Island, and palms — in Alaska and northern Europe.

Equatorial and tropical forests (with palms, fig trees, and sandalwood trees) persisted in Africa, South America, India, and Australia.

Eucalypts, sequoias spread widely, and new types of broad‑leaved trees appeared.

By the end of the Eocene, rainforests were preserved only in the equatorial parts of South America, Africa, India, and Australia — due to the onset of cooling.

To be honest, looking at Paleogene climate reconstruction I believe it was the best time in earth history. The way things go shows us that all attempts to resist burning fossils are quite futile. It takes some kind of catastrophe to change people habits. The level of coordination required to achive the goal of lowering emissions looks unachievable to humanity. We have enough time to adapt, adaptation is more reasonable and pragmatic approach.

Looks interesting.

Have you thought about implementing marks, so that you can select some files for further operations?

Where exactly should I go to look at the "contant stream of lies?

The fact that this always surpises americans doesn't stop to amaze me. American politcs to some extent affects literally everybody on the planet. But only 300M of them are allowed to vote directly. I consider this situation unjust :)

An apartment.

So now I have a personal kitchen, bathroom etc. And no employer can make a better office proposition.

I agree that in most cases things like this is a subject of conspiracy-theory-eqsue speculations. However, while rarely, things happen which make you think that under some circumstances even some fantastic scenarios realize. For instance, most people thought that Australian general-governor is purely decorative position until in 1975 it turned out that its latent power can be seized.

I believe that current approach to diversity is too focused on race\gender\orientation issues. I suspect that this rather brings more imbalance. To make things truly shine the scope must be widened. The first criterions which come to mind are general intelligence and skills. I strongly believe that the current sad state of Google search which everybody complains about can be easily attributed to their policy of hiring smart and skillful employees.

I do drive and can confirm that "invisibilty" is the reason for many (if not the most) accidents. Actually, I have even changed my car driving habits to be more I would say preventive.

And yes, I do recommend Ryan F9 videos, they are really outstanding.

One can only imaging what kind of credentials an exec of one of 13 companies which own 147 companies which own the rest of the world has.

Where all this energy from a dyson sphere is supposed to go? Most of the energy we produce finally ends up heating the atmosphere. This doesn't seem to be the case for a supercivilization. The energy may be turned into matter but from efficiency standpoint it is simpler to convert existing matter to whatever you want.

This wasn't as bad as confusing hotmail for hotmale (not a big mistake when English is not your native language). But I was more like learning something new about pipelines :(

I've considered trying it several times, and each time failed to find any practical use case for my scenarios.

To be honest, after the collapse I was to busy making ends meet. Later, surprisingly, the sad realization was the fact that the western propaganda was in no way better than the soviet - the soviet one was too straightforward and it was easy to spot what was omitted, what was exaggerated etc.

I considered myself old and cynical but the level of hypocrisy recently is astonishingly, absolutely mind blowing.

What a coincidence! Just right now. Definitely I don't consider this as a normal situation. However, the crisis in progress leave no other way to find a root cause of production database sudden degradation. So here am I.

The answer to the "Ctrl question" is quite obvious - just take a look at the space cadet keyboard. Just swap Ctrl and Alt so thumbs could be used for a busy Ctrl.

This also dramatically improve the experience in other "Ctrl heavy" applications.

P.S. I also use Caps Lock for switching layouts and never been happier.

My own, feedcircuit.kibardin.name

The second thing in my list after performing silly job interview is to send an unsolicited cobol implementation of a test task at some stage of a hiring process and later on an actual interview pretend that nothing special is happening.

I'm afraid that as soon as China invades TSMC and some other tasty companies evacuate to US to never return. Then both Koreas and Japan are involved to end with a horrible horrible mess :(

Something like 30 years ago I came across a magazine in which there was a calendar with set of events for each day so that you can have a pretext to drink everyday. After a while the idea of a similar service came to mind - a program which would figure the nearest "round" number of seconds, minutes, days in hex, oct, bin etc. So it is more than 20 years already and I'm still thinking it would be great to implement it finally.

> The remainder of my day was spent alone in my home office with the door open. My CO2 levels at home varied between 750 and 800 ppm.

This made me think about my device accuracy. With open door it is usually well below 400ppm (which seems to be an artificial lower limit of the device).

Finally, I think my device is ok - with door and window closed it gets to 800ppm in about 2-3 hours which seems quite reasonable.

Putin controls the valves, he doesn't need to blow it up to hurt the Europeans. As it turned out recently it is quite easy to come up with a ton of excuses to stop the supply. With the NS blown there is no leverage anymore. So, IMO this version doesn't hold to scrutiny.

See my comment above.

According to [1] in 2019 61% of the world electricity is produced burning coal and oil. I don't see a reason why this proportion would change to fullfill EV caused demand increase. I'm afraid that even worse - sweeping demand increase will be fullfilled the easiest way - burning oil and gas. Hydro and nuclear are slow to build. Solar... I don't know what is wrong with it but taking into account that it is a lot cheaper to extract (comparing to oil and gas) it is still just 3%.

I would love to use EV - it is simpler, more torque etc. But where do we get all this additional electricity from, mostly burning carbon?
