Their Net Loss is still on pace to be about (90m) (most likely slightly more due to sales in Q4 being higher than others). 2018 was 93m Net loss
sharkmerry··on Dress for the Job You Want
These stories always seem to ignore the survivorship bias.

Also, just noticed you are posting your own tweets and are in SEO so this feels like self-promotion

sharkmerry··on A Lonely Plea: ‘Anybody Need a Grandma for Christmas?’
Just to clarify as Im not sure i follow. Would you not be doing this if you weren't religious?
sharkmerry··on For Her Head Cold, Insurer Coughed Up $25,865
Doesnt single payer "solve" this by having negotiating power. As a provider, You can choose not to take it but you are keeping yourself out of 95% of the market.
sharkmerry··on A CT scan costs $1,100 in the US – and $140 in Holland
This seems like whataboutism.

is it just veteran care thats broken? Is active duty the same issue?

We spend $843 per capita on just Administrative expenses in the US on healthcare. Its like 7-10% of Healthcare expenses.

Do we really dare let this waste continue using private companies?

sharkmerry··on You might literally be buying trash on Amazon
All retail includes B+M stores no? Not necessarily a fair comparison. Same article says they control 49% of US E-commerce.

Just as a note, Consumer Reports definitely has a financial interest in putting down online reviews. Not that these issues dont exist, but Consumer Reports has its own set of flaws that they dont publish articles about.
sharkmerry··on The future of finance is self-driving money
The lottery is in everything. The fact that you were able to save money at 28k/year income. The fact that you were able to go to MIT. Education helps, but its not the entire influence and there is luck in education...

8 million dollars over 1600 journalists is $5000 each. Pewdipie doesnt have the costs of running a news company and hes not in the news industry

sharkmerry··on California car burglaries are at crisis levels
Is there an article on this story?
sharkmerry··on Calorie Counting × Meal Planning
glad to hear it! I havent looked at a BMI chart in a while and TIL, im almost obese.
sharkmerry··on Calorie Counting × Meal Planning
1800 is your approx BMR (~12 cal/lb),

You are already at ~3500-4200 cal deficit a week. Recommended typical safe is ~7000 (2 lbs).

If you are doing any kind of exercise you will get close to that, but at 150 lbs, im not sure you need that much loss.

Stay safe my friend

sharkmerry··on Wealth tax would force business liquidation to foreign money
There are only 135 companies even valued over $1b in the US. I dont believe any are singularly owned either.

So the business is worth $1b on paper but isnt liquid enough to pay another $2m/year? is that that common? keep in mind the above about only 135 companies in the US. The odds that the scenario you lay out will be widespread or even exist is a long shot

sharkmerry··on Our home delivery habit reshaped the world
the first comment about the sprinter vans shows that its exponential for road wear. Youre arguing roadwear doesnt matter but arguing against busses.

I just wanted to see what weight per person was. Doesnt matter as much for road wear, but as you were saying, pollution etc matters too, and weight per person matters for the other factors. Not weight per axle like road wear

sharkmerry··on Our home delivery habit reshaped the world
I was curious to compare.

Public Transit bus weighs 44k fully loaded. Assuming only seated passengers, it holds 44 people so 1000lb per person. A car is 4000lbs on average. Fully loaded (with standing) holds 92 people. 478lb/person.

sharkmerry··on Our home delivery habit reshaped the world
Amazon's sprinter vans that do deliveries. are 6k pounds. curb weight, can carry up to 12k pounds

so 5x road wear of normal car when unloaded. 81x the wear when fully loaded.

sharkmerry··on ‘No one wants to open a restaurant in San Francisco’ because of break-ins, costs
That was burglaries that the stats said from the article.

Your data is interesting but it also shows crime is trending down if dates are limited to 2017-2019, which the data you presented only goes to 2010 so doesnt really show long term trends either

sharkmerry··on Our home delivery habit reshaped the world
Not offset enough. a hummer does 21x the wear/tear that an average car does.

a 9ton big-rig does 410x the damage

sharkmerry··on I learned to play the piano without a piano
i agree, but I believe the issue here is limited resources. Not everyone can have the world's best education so we use the resources we have on those that early identify as talented.

Not saying its good, just it may be a resource management issue

sharkmerry··on Sacha Baron Cohen Uses ADL Speech to Tear Apart Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook
Is your argument that none of the people Sacha has gotten to say things, actually believe those? Its just pressure to perform, so EVERYONE would say things they dont believe if put in the same position?
sharkmerry··on Sacha Baron Cohen Uses ADL Speech to Tear Apart Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook
Except that he pointed out in this, that tech's arent removing some white supremacy stuff because it would remove politicians when ADL wants them to.
sharkmerry··on Sacha Baron Cohen Uses ADL Speech to Tear Apart Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook
> Given that the ADL already has outsized censorship abilities on Google and Twitter amongst other platforms

Can you explain this? I dont know what censorship ability the ADL has on Google and Twitter?

sharkmerry··on I learned to play the piano without a piano
I am having trouble finding an exact study, but i believe the studies have shown that you pick it up easier before a certain age (languages are like this too apparently) and if you do, your brain will pick it up easier later on.

Its not hard/fast, but I think its just a huge leg up

sharkmerry··on Her Amazon Purchases Are Real, the Reviews Are Fake
I actually think this is due to their liberal return policies and so other retailer's dont have to price-match.
