sfryxell··on The Harness Is the Thing
My bet is we no longer have the benifit of the doubt. and so taking capital and burning hard is not going to break through into consumer as easily as it did. So I extend the arc of time, tell people I'm a business, focus on giving customer as much free as I can, (probably add the harness to my product), and over time build an affectionate connetion with customers and then remind them I'm a business.

Direct Actionable feedback. Thank you. The text is trying to folow the seven to ten words per line rule.

This is my first blog post with graphics. so your comment helps me guage proportions

Could this be an extension? I already have a <meta tag name="darkreader-lock">, but I'm not sure what extensions are common in firefox
sfryxell··on The Harness Is the Thing
Yes, something like this is a good skill for me to add to the critic phase. This is my first post with the blog redesign, and I will admit I am 100% using hacker news as QA.

Excellent feedback, Thank you.

I looked at it on firefox and it looks fine. I wonder why it's off for some people
sfryxell··on The North Korean fake IT worker problem is ubiquitous
I have gotten multiple emails from wonky email addresses offering to have me interview for jobs and they will take care of the work if I get hired. fake names tons of money for me. I just have to nail the interview.

My resume is shiny enough and I've gotton hired enough times im a good candidate for this kind of scam.

This feels like a very ham fisted approach for them though. 99% of engineers are going to ignore or not take seriously these kinds of out of the blue offers.

sfryxell··on Integrating AI
sorry to make you my QA. Its the first time using a pre tag on the blog. I didn't check it on mobile before pushing.

It's fixed now. Thanks for commenting and letting me know.

sfryxell··on Integrating AI
AI coding assistants are changing how we work, but they're not replacing the core skills that make a developer. What matters most is our ability to hold complex systems in our minds and think through their implications.
sfryxell··on What we know about CEO shooting suspect
Even better
sfryxell··on What we know about CEO shooting suspect
Maaaan, The NYPD will take credit for oxygen. Right now their talking like they solved it. a "combination of old-school detective work and new age technology"

it was an employee at McDonalds. McDonalds solved this crime. Like god intended.

sfryxell··on The White Collar Apocalypse Is Nigh
Thats definitely how the article from the times reads. What is the point of higher learning, it's a gross mutation for it to become an ever tightening noose of status scarcity
sfryxell··on The White Collar Apocalypse Is Nigh
Spelling checked by claude. Thanks for the reminder. imagine years ago I would just be left to wallow in my ignorance.
sfryxell··on The White Collar Apocalypse Is Nigh
yep 4 people in san francisco. I mean I've lived in the city since the 90's. and eventually you get to know people who value decency over rent. Also, tiny room.
sfryxell··on The White Collar Apocalypse Is Nigh
"runway and low rents to keep whiddling away on, until it happened "

That's exactly it. Living here in the city. I have cheap rent $680 decent work and the room and time to spend my day coding on projects that I feel like matter.

The projects don't feel fully baked, but getting closer right. I just need the time and space to work on them.

well said.

How do we build our perfect future with desperate scared elites worried they won't get to achieve
sfryxell··on CitizenDJ – Make music using free audio and video from the Library of Congress
This is fantastic. I've got two samplers that I've just started building a sample library for (Korg Drumlogue and Teenage Engineering's KO II) This is exactly the kind of tool that will help me find interesting sounds. Great job.
sfryxell··on Proteins let cells remember how well their last division went
for me this is an example of informative back pressure. the protiens make sure the cells pay attention to what just happened to allow for changes that could improve things in the future. If you like the sound of big V8's what's appealing is the backpressure signaling that the engine is healthy and capable.

There was this article on backpressure on here and it's been siting with me. I've been applying it to other articles about data flow.

sfryxell··on Same. Leaving Apple Hardware
I think I was just showing off. The vectors are just fine without the animation. They are a setting I had on inside realness. on a blog that's for reading they are a distraction and turn oppressive without the option to disable.

Thanks again.

sfryxell··on Same. Leaving Apple Hardware
well. The feedback helps. The site should be rocket fast for everyone again.

I wanted to flesh this out some more.

A fuller explanation why an emotional reaction is often still the apropriate action.
sfryxell··on Apple appears to be breaking iPhone web apps in the EU
I didn't even read it. You conflated spec adoption with developer need.
sfryxell··on Apple appears to be breaking iPhone web apps in the EU
I'm happy to earn your trust. Apple makes that impossible for me to do.
sfryxell··on Apple appears to be breaking iPhone web apps in the EU
I should be allowed to build a relationship of trust with my customers without a walled garden. Apple isn't keeping you safe they are keeping you to themselves

same. They think they are the only unix in town.

yes
sfryxell··on Apple appears to be breaking iPhone web apps in the EU
Here we are, being monopoly fucked right in the face.

https://realness.online is my PWA only application, So, I've got a front row seat to apple's monopoly fulcrum killing all desenters.

if you install https://whatpwacando.today/ on a phone or ipad today you can see how they already barely support standards.

Only basic things work. filesystem access is only halfway. no Contact picker, no background sync. They will destroy the user experience for everyone in order to disable other browsers more robust implementations of the spec.

They have been monopoly gaming us for years The EU is forcing them to go out in the open with it
