setnone··on Show HN: The Alphabetical Clock
It's fine. Made me think of alphabetical organization, if you could sort an alphabet by any meaningful order rather then, well, alphabetical
setnone··on Voyager 1 runs on 69 KB of memory and an 8-track tape recorder
i wonder was there a hot debate on whether or not to include Golden record
setnone··on Ask HN: How do you feel when your coding assistant loses context?
I can totally feel the shift, the rot or whatever when it happens, with opus 1M it seems to happen more often in my recent experience, while my approach didn't change a bit.

So i teach myself to not have an emotional response while working with LLMs. The actual response would be starting a new session, or dive into code myself.

setnone··on Typing Speed Might Matter Now
I would add digestion speed to the mix, for me it is somewhat different from thinking
setnone··on HopTab–free, open source macOS app switcher and tiler that replaces Cmd+Tab
This looks awesome and polished. I've made similar app for myself coming from similar setup (Rectangle, altTab)

I needed custom icons, custom names for windows, obligatory custom and persistent order, 'always on' option and keyboard nav for showing/moving windows from the strip. Could not be happier.

setnone··on Show HN: Free alternative to Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Monologue
groq ≠ grok
setnone··on Skip the Tips: A game to select "No Tip" but dark patterns try to stop you
Neat game! Is this called monetary abuse?
setnone··on Leaked chats expose the daily life of a scam compound's enslaved workforce
Why though? The essence of communism is banditism
setnone··on Show HN: 22 GB of Hacker News in SQLite
can confirm, i'm usually very generous with upvotes on sundays at noon
setnone··on If AI replaces workers, should it also pay taxes?
I wouldn't mind if it also pay fines for errors, hallucinations and lost time. Some artificial accountability you know.
setnone··on Google Antigravity just deleted the contents of whole drive
I am deeply regretful, but my Google Antigravity clearly states: AI may make mistakes. Double-check all generated code.

Surely AGI products won't have such disclaimer.

setnone··on EU Council Approves New "Chat Control" Mandate Pushing Mass Surveillance
I wonder if being a certain type of politician could be considered a mental health condition
setnone··on OpenAI needs to raise at least $207B by 2030
The third might be 'AI Device'
setnone··on Why Hacker News UI still look like 90s?
AI era vibe coded elegant UI gives me fatigue already
setnone··on Ask HN: Would you use a self-hosted server that streams media and video games?
I'm curious about scaling: what if a thousand or a million people would want to join a stream?
setnone··on Ask HN: What are some modern technologies that you refuse to adopt?
That would be smart devices: TVs, fridges, teapots, watches, phones
setnone··on Ask HN: Struggling founders, pls share your startup struggle
The struggle is the name of the game. Heck, it starts with the word entrepreneur -- I'm struggling to type it properly and even pronounce it all the time :)
setnone··on Ask HN: Does Build in Public Helps?
Depends on what kind of help you expect. IMO it's more about building a following and setting up distribution for your products among BIP/indiehacker community, both are helpful.
setnone··on Ask HN: Dark Mode for HN is overdue
A quote from the post you mentioned > I don't want my eyes to burn when I'm browsing HN at night on my phone

Is it just me who feels completely opposite? I struggle to read dark, text-heavy websites for the exact same reason.

Also, if dark mode ends up happening, please put the checkbox on the account page, the UI is busy enough :)

setnone··on Why haven't local-first apps become popular?
Just because "personal server" hasn't happened yet in the way personal computer did
setnone··on Good system design
Some systems are designed to last vs. designed to adapt
setnone··on Occult books digitized and put online by Amsterdam’s Ritman Library
You have to use uncensored version
setnone··on Meta's flirty AI chatbot invited a retiree to New York
Having elderly family members this feels extremly personal.

"Check important info" disclaimer is just devious and there is no accountability in sight.

setnone··on Study: Social media probably can't be fixed
Here is the moment of appreciation for HN, a social media that arguably doesn't need to be fixed.
setnone··on We keep reinventing CSS, but styling was never the problem
I guess Tailwind Dao masters are outmatched only by HTML Vice Police :)

Look, it's strictly pragmatic approach, i end up creating utility classes anyway and i'm really glad someone did this for me.

Maintaining Tailwind (or a mix of Tailwind and CSS) is routine, just like it should be.

And i'm talking about web app development, markup is cluttered anyway (tsx or whatnot), semantic effort is already put in components and such. So yeah, saving some cognitive load works and helps in case of Tailwind.

setnone··on Training language models to be warm and empathetic makes them less reliable
Just how i like my LLMs - cold and antiverbose
setnone··on Training language models to be warm and empathetic makes them less reliable
or even human employees?
setnone··on We keep reinventing CSS, but styling was never the problem
I embrace the mess of tailwind-cluttered markup to eliminate context switching and save up some cognitive load.
