server_man3000··on If you have first-hand knowledge of the FDA’s torpor, get in touch
I have chronic ulcers and colchicine helped a lot. I paid $500 after insurance for a single month supply.
server_man3000··on Show HN: An MIT-licensed ChatGPT plugin that loads and edits files locally
What is one of your package dependencies dependencies have an exploit?

Overall, nice idea and demo. I’d be a bit hesitant to run, but creative implementation

server_man3000··on Stopping at 90%
This article just breeds classic toxic work mentality. There is nothing wrong doing 90% of a project. Hell, I’ve learned the most doing just 50-70% of side projects and moving to other ideas faster.
server_man3000··on Webrecorder: Capture interactive websites and replay them at a later time
How do people archive sites 1:1 using tools like Playwright? I’ve tried to screenshot things (looks weird) and pull the page content (have problems viewing articles like medium).
server_man3000··on Ask HN: What pay to target when joining a startup?
Only 1-2% for employee no 3?
server_man3000··on Ask HN: What pay to target when joining a startup?
Is it typical to ask to see what others are getting paid?
server_man3000··on Next Generation of LinkedIn?
Why? Try and create quality content. No one cares about a generic vanity wall. True talent will look past the Linkedin hype chain. Write an article about new things you learn and teach others from your perspective or talk about things that interest you.
server_man3000··on Ask HN: Do weird domain names naturally just do better?
@dang is probably happy to clean up the duplicate
server_man3000··on Ask HN: Do weird domain names naturally just do better?
Maybe not from a technical, SEO oriented perspective. However, I feel if you had two websites:

- GlobalWebConsulting.net - FluffyPickle.blog

One might be slightly more memorable than the other, leading to (maybe?) better return rate/easier recognition as it grows.

server_man3000··on Remote Workers Responsible for $800B Corporate Real Estate Collapse
Not to be too condescending here, but this article is honestly trash.

> Corporate workers who are either too afraid or lazy to go to the office are having a significant impact on the economy

I don't really owe my employer anything. To feel bad about waking up and sipping my coffee in the comfort of my own home 5 minutes before standup instead of commuting in traffic, not being compensated for it whilst also contributing to environmental pollution is incredibly strange.

Overall, this article sounds like it was written from some salty and unintelligible realestate investor drinking the corporate koolaid. It references some McKinsey "research" study and fails to even cite the source or what the analysis was outside of alluding to the layman being responsible for wiping out almost 1 trillion dollars.

server_man3000··on It Took Me a Decade to Find the Perfect Personal Website Stack – Ghost+Fathom
Not going to judge, but personal blog.. You can do this at scale for $0 with any decent SSG like Gatsby, NextJS or Hugo with a good theme or custom CSS and markdown rendering support.

With that said, I know some people like Ghost, but to pay that much is nuts. I pay less than that for my homelab that runs ~20 services 24/7.
