saviorand··on Algebraic Effects in Practice with Flix
True, although I think they're working on support for generic effects
saviorand··on Algebraic Effects in Practice with Flix
Good point! You might be interested in reading this article on the topic: https://without.boats/blog/coroutines-and-effects/
saviorand··on Algebraic Effects in Practice with Flix
Function call always returns, and to one single caller, whereas effects can choose not to "return" at all, resume multiple times, etc
saviorand··on Algebraic Effects in Practice with Flix
Koka, Effekt and 4 other research languages are mentioned earlier in the article though? This talks about practical languages, not research-only
saviorand··on Show HN: I wrote a book about forms usability
Can confirm this is a good book -- I've been subscribed to the newsletter for a while
saviorand··on Ask HN: What are the most common legal documents that you use for your projects?
I’m usually entering contractor agreements (as a contractor) — guess I don’t need to generate one but might be good to have some kind of support when reading, like a way to compare different agreements and pick the best terms
saviorand··on Show HN: NDA RHINO – Create a Free Non-Disclosure Agreement for U.S. or EU
This is good! I need NDA’s fairly often at work and here it’s quick to make one
saviorand··on How to send privacy friendly emails
Wow, thanks. Live and learn. Does the way some tools check whether the email was read by the recipient or not have something to do with this structure, too?
saviorand··on How to send privacy friendly emails
Didn't know about all these headers. Is there a way you can check if a header is present in an email from a client? e.g from Gmail
saviorand··on Having 170 competitors in not an obstacle
Oftentimes it makes more sense to think of the presence of competitors as just another means of validation -- confirming that someone needs this. If there's no need, there won't be anyone on the market
saviorand··on Gantt Charts Arrive in Notion
It's already close! They lacked a lot of Project Management features, but this update gives the impression that's their priority now. Basically all Enterprise-first features are in it: gantt chart, customizable pages, clipping tables with lots of rows, advanced permissions
saviorand··on Event, 18th Nov: Building a Notion Website Live
just updated!
saviorand··on Decision Journal in Notion
Let me know how it goes! We're also trying it out the past month. Using it for business decisions
saviorand··on Decision Journal in Notion
Hmm, maybe we can bring that discernment of spirits part back to the template? JK
saviorand··on Decision Journal in Notion
Huge work! We work together and using this decisions flow (with a slightly different template) for our own team decisions. Gotta say it's very useful, helps wrap ones head around difficult situations
saviorand··on Decision Journal in Notion
I guess it's just a natural way of doing it. You need to write every day, then assemble -> why not write in your dailies
saviorand··on Decision Journal in Notion
This is actually very similar in structure. With possible consequences, outcome, decision pros and cons
saviorand··on Guide to Notion Landing Pages
Hahaha! Yeah, awesome! Woohoo
saviorand··on Guide to Notion Landing Pages
Oh, right, sorry. Reached out to founder about the fact! Wish it was open-source
saviorand··on Guide to Notion Landing Pages
Wish I could self-host Notion. A thing that's missing right now. But I'm OK knowing I can always export to Markdown and move to another tool
saviorand··on Guide to Notion Landing Pages
I know Notebag and Obsidian - both are more open-source, Obsidian is almost like a layer on top of your Markdown content you can leave in the file storage
saviorand··on Guide to Notion Landing Pages
Yes you can! And the best thing is you can draw data from your Notion workspace. If you're an active Notion user that means a different dimension compared to usual websites, which you need to update separately. This can just work as a set of public-facing pages for your own company or personal workspace.
saviorand··on Show HN: Ready-Made CRM, Project and Content Management on Notion
Hi there! Thanks, we're really keen on Notion ourselves and building the expertise in it for quite a while already. The pricing is $3k for the whole package, split into three payments. Good idea with the demo! We have some components, maybe we could show these off. Also planning a Youtube series on Notion productivity setups, so some of that may appear there
saviorand··on Show HN: I made an open-source marketplace to fasten OAuth API integrations
Looks interesting. So the use case is when you have an app that consumes a bunch of APIs and you want to get rid of all the integration code? Are you planning to add any analytics/data dashboards e.g to view aggregate data?
saviorand··on Show HN: Automatically Rename HEY's 'Imbox' to 'Inbox'
I endorse this project. Finally, something the world needs (though does not deserve)
saviorand··on Show HN: Appliku.com Cost-Effecient and Pretty Python Digital Ocean Deployments
Tells a lot about how prioritization is important when approaching complex tasks. Were you implementing this whole product yourself?
saviorand··on Show HN: Ghost Drive – Sim Racing Using Your Car as a Controller
This is awesome. Saves a lot of gas, too. I wonder how on what other car models that's possible
saviorand··on Show HN: Appliku.com Cost-Effecient and Pretty Python Digital Ocean Deployments
A typo - cost-efficient! But glad to see more out-of-the-box solutions coming out. It can get pretty time-consuming to deploy after your app is already done. What was the trickiest part of developing that product, I wonder?
saviorand··on Show HN: I made a site where students can create and share flashcards and notes
Is Barbra a reference to syllogistic logic? I mean BARBARA. Looks like a powerful social learning tool, need to try it out -- will share my thoughts here once I'm done
saviorand··on Making software engineering interviews predictive of job performance
tl;dr: offer your applicants test exercises
