satyamkapoor··on India orders smartphone makers to preload state-owned cyber safety app
Have been using this service in Belgium and it really helps you gain trust. Ofcourse no one knows if there is still a back door
satyamkapoor··on Show HN: Meihus – Mortgage calculator that shows early payment impact monthly
lovely tool. Would be nice if there is an option to add repayment/reinvestment fee which my bank charges every time I do an early payment.

Thanks!

Thanks

satyamkapoor··on WiFi4EU initiative provides free Wi-Fi in public spaces across Europe
Cheaper definitely depends on the region. In Germany a decent 5G without throttle is extremely expensive.
satyamkapoor··on WiFi4EU initiative provides free Wi-Fi in public spaces across Europe
Love eduroam
satyamkapoor··on WiFi4EU initiative provides free Wi-Fi in public spaces across Europe
Agree but despite the roaming at times it can be way cheaper. For instance paying for BElgium operator (not necessarily the cheapest) you can buy an unlimited 5G (limited to 90G in BE without throttle) which in roaming is 31G costing 25 Eur.

I’ve also seen some cheaper providers than this in DE but they limit 5G to 50mbps :(

satyamkapoor··on WiFi4EU initiative provides free Wi-Fi in public spaces across Europe
Some unfortunately only refer to DE. Every country adapted their data packages but in Germany, the prices are still vintage :/
satyamkapoor··on Show HN: I built an open-source tool to make on-call suck less
Startups, hip small companies, tech product based companies. Most non tech product based or enterprise banks in NL are on Teams
satyamkapoor··on Tim Cook says ‘buy your mom an iPhone’ if you want to end green bubbles
Or Messenger. Strangely, Messenger is more popular than WhatsApp in Europe. Got the context though
satyamkapoor··on N26 Bank Closing Accounts Without Notice
Personal banking with D bank is so crap that you start loving banks like N26
satyamkapoor··on N26 Bank Closing Accounts Without Notice
Revolut? Wink wink!
satyamkapoor··on Ask HN: Anyone else is tired of all the corporate bs?
Smaller companies have less of this corporate bs. In my last company I could request them to take my part first in meetings so I can leave first.

I’ve been quite vocal to show my happiness and ask them to explain if that meeting ads value anywhere.

satyamkapoor··on Ask HN: Do you manage your family's digital safety?
Tried but failed - 1P family - NextDNS
satyamkapoor··on WireGuard multihop available in the Mullvad app
The ios app reviews of PIA says it's now owned by a company which used to make malwares. I'm really happy with PIA as compared to Mullvad. Works better for me but this review is making me feel unsafe :(

The PIA app is lovely. Mullvad's as well

satyamkapoor··on WeekToDo – Free Minimalist Weekly Planner App
How is it different then a calendar with tasks/reminders support?

I’m using the calendar in nextcloud and syncing it with caldav on IOS and it works pretty smooth. Can also schedule the reminders. :/

satyamkapoor··on An Ode to Apple’s Hide My Email
My only scare with not using gmail and outlook calendars. However I moved to Zoho for mails and nextcloud self hosted for calendars. For mail delivery I make sure to verify again n again my SPF DKIM is valid or not but it’s a scare still :(

Isn’t it so bad that it’s overly hard to move away :(

satyamkapoor··on Twitter accounts dropping “.eth” from usernames
emails are so phenomenal. However email security is so so bad. User experience of pgp is crap. :(

But agree emails still work as standard. SMS not for me. The number might change :)

satyamkapoor··on Back to India
Idk how this works in software but the demand is so high and in DevOps that Içe not seen less than 80k Gross being paid in Germany (remote). I'm interviewing now.

I just feel the locals are too less in number for ofcourse product based job. Not talking about standard banks or non product roles. Often these non product ones (if big like banks) prefer giving contracts to Indian service based companies to cut cost.

satyamkapoor··on Back to India
In Belgium the standard was 20 but government forced to make the work week 36 hours & most company’s had 40. So they started giving 1 day per month extra off. It’s 32 now as the unofficial standard. In DE a contact gets 35.

Plus you’re eligible to take day off when you’re moving, have a family event(your or close family’s death or wedding).

Not counting the sick leaves here which obv do not get deducted from these
