samketchup··on 10x Cheaper than the iPhone 16: the NanoPhone
I bought an ebay iphone clone in 2010 with similar specs to this.
samketchup··on Laundry Folding Machine
It is fake, they went out of business and this site is a scam
samketchup··on Google Pixel 9 Pro
I hated the camera bulge and in display finger reader on the 7 so much that I downgraded to a 5
samketchup··on Cyclists can't decide whether to fear or love self-driving cars
As a motorcyclist in Arizona I stay as far away from waymo/tesla as possible
samketchup··on Automakers Can't Figure Out What Electric Cars Are Supposed to Sound Like
I find the quiet hum they make very unsettling

samketchup··on Meta's Threads Now Has More Daily US Users Than Musk's X
Looks like it's just comparing play and app store downloads
samketchup··on Meta's Threads Now Has More Daily US Users Than Musk's X
Does this account for android and desktop users or just ios?

Can't imagine this is a legitimate comparison.

samketchup··on Reddit Cofounder Says Site Was Built by a Horde of Fake Accounts
It still is and most of the top subreddits are moderated by the same group of people
samketchup··on Mistral Remove "Committing to open models" from their website
I hope they keep tweeting magnet links for model releases :(
samketchup··on Ask HN: What's the best forum-based community you've been a part of, and why?
Thumpertalk

Incredibly useful for DIY dirt bike repair, threads often have step by step instructions with photographs. Motorcycle people are generally very nice unlike some of the car forums I've used.

samketchup··on Hertz to sell 20k EVs in shift back to gas-powered cars
It's not a myth at all, and Tesla's "rating" is a lie. Look at data on Prius battery packs and what Toyota rates them for(100-150k). I understand I'm comparing a hybrid to an EV, but there is much more data and I actually trust Toyota.

Buying an EV with 100k miles and the original battery pack for 20k is a bad idea.

samketchup··on Hertz to sell 20k EVs in shift back to gas-powered cars
Granted they're dumping the fleet with degraded battery packs before doing the 15k+ replacement, sure.
samketchup··on Coinbase targets financially vulnerable young adults
Coinbase stock outperformed NVIDIA this year
samketchup··on Is it possible to save Wikipedia?

samketchup··on Toyota's new $10k pickup
The Maverick is nowhere near a success. Powertrain issues aside, it was nearly impossible to buy the $20,000 trim of the truck. Sure you can buy a $40,000 optioned out hybrid version, but a used Frontier or Tacoma is a much better option for a $20,000 truck.
samketchup··on X Won't Demonetize Russell Brand, the Company Tells Pro-Censorship British MPs
In the morning to ya!
samketchup··on X Won't Demonetize Russell Brand, the Company Tells Pro-Censorship British MPs
Don't care for the guy but I believe bad people should be allowed to make money. I have an issue with advertisers bullying platforms to remove bad guys, but that's the way it works.
samketchup··on Why is Israel attacking south Gaza after telling people to go there
They already have their reason, and the USA is going to fund it.

I have no opinion on either side.

samketchup··on LLM Boxing – Llama2 vs. Mistral
Fun site, LET'S GO MISTRAL
samketchup··on Mistral AI 7B – beats Llama 2 7B and 13B
Something about the way they launched the model by dropping a magnet link on X with no explanation makes me really like this team
samketchup··on Bambu Lab A1 Mini
Very competitive price, I'm loving the competition between bambu and prusa
samketchup··on Ask HN: Which messenger app is good in 2023?
I use Signal and the android app is great
samketchup··on Oregon decriminalized hard drugs – early results aren’t encouraging
Was fresh out of high school and grew up poor, I never had a chance of beating it. But hey, at least I got to visit tent city before it was shut down.
samketchup··on Oregon decriminalized hard drugs – early results aren’t encouraging
Arizona has very aggressive checkpoints by the lakes and rivers during the holiday's
samketchup··on Oregon decriminalized hard drugs – early results aren’t encouraging
I guess I have some not so unique experience. I was given a DUI in 2011 during a routine traffic stop. They officer cited I cut the protected left turn too tightly. The officer then said he smelled marijuana, even though I was currently smoking a normal cigarette. I was arrested immediately, my blood was taken, and being an occasional pot smoker, THC was in my blood, I got a DUI while completely sober driving to work at 9 AM.
samketchup··on Oregon decriminalized hard drugs – early results aren’t encouraging
More people are killed on the road in accidents caused by elderly folks than drunk drivers. I know this sounds insane, but drunk driving should be no harm no foul.
samketchup··on Hacker News is just r/roastme for programmers
I have no idea how to code, yet have boiler plate GPT code in production. No interest in learning, it's not for me. I like this site for the diversity of topics and information.
samketchup··on Nigel Farage's Coutts bank account closed because he 'didn't align' with values
This happened to a US comedian that built an alternative donation platform to Patreon. The banks all black listed his platform and closed his personal account.

In response he built backed.by a blockchain powered Patreon alternative. It is impossible for banks, governments, or even the creator of the site to terminate subscriptions to creators.
