saejox··on Proposal for a community C website and a refrence compiler
I agree with the first point. ( an ISO website like isocpp.org )

But strongly oppose the second. Who is gonna develop and maintain such a fruitless project. You are not gonna be able optimize it as much as GCC. No one will use.

Here is a rant about C:

Many projects refuse code that contains single line comments // . This should give a nice hint how C language is treated. On the other hand i have been writing C++11 exlusively since 2012. C doesn't like change. Not a community a newcomer would like to be in.

saejox··on HN Pizza Index: Cost of living by city
Istanbul (dominos): 23TL $13.5

Although there is a 2-for-1 promotion, which is always available. (extra 5tl for second one), then it would cost 14TL $7.

saejox··on Jester, a Sinatra-like web framework for Nimrod
Never heard of sinatra before. Just checked /tests folder. It's a small and beautiful piece of code. I shall bookmark this.
saejox··on Tweeter:TWTRQ Stock Went Up +1,000% Because People Thought It Was Twitter
WOW.
saejox··on HTML5 Flash Player (Shumway) lands in Mozilla
I removed Acrobat Reader from my computer after PDF.js.

This has the same potential. Although it's vm is implemented in pure js, not even asm.js. It may never hit the 'good enough' performance levels.

saejox··on Hungary moves to criminalise the homeless
Shelters are known to be full. This simply means if you are you are a criminal and need to be jailed.
saejox··on Ask HN: Do you dream about code?
I've had a nightmare about getting stuck inside a pure function. I was trying get myself out using console output functions. I couldn't get out because all my member methods were mutators. Wasn't able to cast myself to string.

Makes no sense, i know.

saejox··on Rockstar: 'GTA 5' Cops Not Racist

saejox··on Bullshit Job Title Generator
"JavaScript Search Expert"

Bulls-eye! That's every javascript coder i know of. Who writes javascript anyway just Google it, someone already did it.

saejox··on Picking Mushrooms after Cppcheck
One thing article does not mention is the false positives. Filter helps only partially, i'm still left with hundreds of false positives. PVS-Studio considers false-positives as natural part of the progress. A total turn-off me. Cppcheck does very well in that regard, i only have 2 false positives with cppcheck. Best part is they are considered bugs by cppcheck team. Also wonder about the opposite, errors that have been caught by cppcheck but ignored by PVS-Studio. They do exist. http://www.viva64.com/en/b/0149/

My points are: - Every c++ project should use cppcecheck since it has almost no noise. - PVS-Studio if you have a dedicated analyst in your team and able to pony up $10k per year.

saejox··on Why we dropped Eclipse in favour of IntelliJ
Perspective switching and slow indexing killed Eclipse for me too. I was hoping Kepler would change that, but i was disappointed.
saejox··on How I Make A Living Using GameMaker
Sound's terrible.

Also, the blog's author sounds just like "I'm earning $10000 a month, click here to learn about it" ads. I suspect he is in collusion with yoyo games.

saejox··on Introducing Nintendo 1DS
Where is the preorder button ?
saejox··on Nimrod: The Return of Pascal
Possibly the best compile to C language. Easy to setup, fast, feature rich, works nice with C and best part: configurable GC.

One thing i don't like tho: Case insensitivity. I write many in many languages, all but Nimrod are case sensitive. Lot's of 'already defined' errors. There is nice discussion about it here: https://github.com/Araq/Nimrod/issues/521

saejox··on Mutex Nintendo
Nintendo already has a device that targets mobile gamers.
saejox··on Nidium – A new browser engine
This does not look like a browser. It's a gui application framework, that happens to be using javascript as the preferred programming language.

A lot like https://github.com/rogerwang/node-webkit

saejox··on "Disable Javascript" option removed in Firefox 23
There are more people who disable JS unintentionally than those who do it intentionally.

This is a good move. Option still exists in about:config.

saejox··on What is Happening in Istanbul?
Many local shops are looted by the protestors. Cars turned, stones thrown etc... So much for peaceful a protest. Mayoral election is less than a year away. Protest with your votes, not your fists.
