saejox··on John Carmack talk at Upper Bound 2025
What Carmack is doing is right. More people need to get away from training their models just with words. AI need the physicality.
saejox··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (April 2025)
An online coop game inspired by Ice Climber (NES) and Spelunky. Randomly generated chaotic coop fun is my goal.

saejox··on Defold: cross-platform game engine
i wish people would stop mentioning W4 Games as a porting option. their lowest revenue tier costs $2000 a year. most indie games sell a few hundred copies.
saejox··on Show HN: Breakout with a roguelite/vampire survivor twist
here i have updated it to latest. https://arcadenest-games.itch.io/rogue-bricks
saejox··on Show HN: I got laid off from Meta and created a minor hit on Steam
Great work! My game has some features inspired by Ballionaire. I also used Godot, i need to dissect your pck file to see how you organized things. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3499470/Rogue_Bricks_Demo...

Although i should caution poeple, most indie games fail. They fail hard. #1 tip: your game must be good looking to sell copies.

saejox··on Show HN: Breakout with a roguelite/vampire survivor twist
Thank you. It is kinda like Tetris, blocks falling constantly. you have limited time to get strong and destroy blocks.

i struggled greatly on balancing. My solution was to make director behind the scenes to make sure player never gets bored. Downside is; game is quite hard for non breakout players. Aiming is crucial.

i did release the demo on itch.io But it lacks some features. i will update it tomorrow.

saejox··on Show HN: Breakout with a roguelite/vampire survivor twist
That is crazy coincidence. i just released demo my rogue like breakout clone on Steam next fest. i picked a more of a bullet hell/shoot em up kind of approach. Faster the better.

I had great fun playing yours. Sound design is especially good.

saejox··on $250 Million For A 14-Year-Old's Big Idea: Origami Owl
Saw amway and immediately got what it's about.
saejox··on Assembly - Quirky for Software
%5 goes to idea maker, i get it. What happens to other %95 ? Is it evenly distributed, or assemblymade takes a percentage?

I am interested in contributing to projects if it's evenly distrubuted among developers or assemblymade gets a cut no more than %5. Please be clear about it.

saejox··on How Bitcoin Could Become a Viable Currency
Volatility doesn't bother as long as i can convert it to USD as fast and painless as i do with USD/EUR or Gold/USD.

But, i can't. So it's kinda worthless.

saejox··on If C++ is so bad, what should game developers use?
C++ is not bad. Code backend in c++ and use a scripting library for your game logic.
saejox··on Lime – Experimental Sublime Text clone
Nice work. That's quite a bit of code. If you are serious about this you should setup a website, list features, show screenshots and offer binaries.

As it stand it not likely that many people will build a thing they never even seen a screenshot.

saejox··on Deep C and C++ (2011)
All of the quirks listed have good reasons to exist. Except size_t, that never makes sense.
saejox··on Apple Says New OS X ‘Mavericks’ Will Be Offered for Free
First i heard this i immidiately gone to apple.com/osx looked for iso download.

Yes i am naive like that.

saejox··on Introducing WhiteHat Aviator – A Safer Web Browser
Totally downloading because a wordpress page with binary download link is the safest/private thing i can think of.
saejox··on How Java’s Floating-Point Hurts Everyone Everywhere (1998) [pdf]
Cyrix. That's a word i didn't hear in at least a decade.
saejox··on Cake Monsters HTML5 Game
I have played quite a few puzzlescript games in the last few days. Never would have guessed it would catch on.
saejox··on Nimrod: The Return of Pascal
An imperative language that aims to replace C/C++ ? Why would functional programming examples belong to front page.
saejox··on IsoHunt to Shut Down as Part of Settlement With Studios
Why do they even try? It takes an hour to change the logo and host it somewhere else.
saejox··on Visual Studio 2013 released to web
I heard many complaints about SP1 slow starting and getting stuck in 'Shutting Down'. On top of that SP1 has zero new features. Bunch of so called security updates. From my perpective i'm using the stable version.

If thing go awry i would need to waste a day or two reinstalling the OS again. It's very easy to resist installing this update.

saejox··on PlayStation4 will cost 2,000 dollars in Brazil
Whichever hacked first will be one sold most in Brazil. I suspect that will be xbone.
saejox··on Wireshark is switching to Qt
No no no. I wish i could always use html ui in my applications. It's leagues ahead of layout/form/widget based ui solutions. Styling native elements is like bending metal bars with bare hands.
saejox··on Visual Studio 2013 released to web
"Please install Internet Explorer 10 and then retry installing Visual Studio"

Internet Explorer 10 also insists on Windows 7 SP1 installation. I'm using this Win7 install since 2009. I'm very scared the update will jinx it.

saejox··on Poll: Do you read the "new" page on HN?
It's a shame that 'rarely' and 'no' is too high.
saejox··on Terrorism is not about Terror
How would you seek justice if your family is killed by an USA drone strike?
saejox··on Terrorism is not about Terror
They certainly doesn't care about 'winning'. It's a pure revengeful act. Vengeance only exist where law doesn't exist.
saejox··on I'm learning Rust so I can move away from C#
I've enjoyed the post.
saejox··on "bomb" in Whatsapp message results in police raid
WhatsApp is a very shady application. They are most likely are being 'compansated' for their 'cooperation'.

Btw, google translate's dutch is very good.

saejox··on Why Java Now Rocks More Than Ever: Part 1 – The Java Compiler
Java is the definition of enterprise level language. Very newbie friendly. It's nice for the newbies but it's verbosity and small set of features kills it for any experienced programmer.

Please don't tell me about the fabled Java 8. Google doesn't care about new java versions, so we are stuck with Java 6. Most people will move to other languages until Java 8 gains any traction.

saejox··on HN Pizza Index: Cost of living by city
Question asked for cheese/tomato pizza. I have added tomato to the ingredients of the classic one.
