rullopat··on Pi's Minimalism Is Its Advantage
I don't get the XDG appeal of having all the data of an app scattered all over the home dir when I can just have a .dir of an app with everything inside.
rullopat··on Open-weight AI is having its Kubernetes moment
You need to ask what happened in Tienanmen square
rullopat··on Show HN: Getting GLM 5.2 running on my slow computer
Looking at the progress with DS4 project from Antirez and Colibri, are we probably going in the direction of having a stripe RAID of SSDs instead of RAM to get decent performance without losing a kidney to the RAM mafia? I really hope so.
rullopat··on GLM 5.2 and the coming AI margin collapse
The motivation that the USA entered WWII was not because they were generous, but because the 3rd Reich was effectively becoming a big European nation, so they had to do something to avoid it. A unified Europe is a thread to the USA and Russia and maybe somebody else too.
rullopat··on Ask HN: What are tools you have made for yourself since the advent of AI?
I made my own agent harness inspired by OpenClaw, but with internal group messaging between agents and memory sharing confined in agent groups. Plus Telegram integration with multiple agents in one channel using topics: https://bazilion.com/
rullopat··on Ferrari Luce
I don't get how Ive is getting so much praise as a designer, after designing the worst iPhones ever and a Ferrari that looks like a Toyota Prius on steroids.
rullopat··on Zerostack – A Unix-inspired coding agent written in pure Rust
I understand the need for memory footprint in some situations, but what's the point of seeking performance for a software that mostly calls LLMs and waits?
rullopat··on ProgramBench: Can language models rebuild programs from scratch?
I think it's one (but not the only) reason that makes LLMs work very well with Ruby on Rails
rullopat··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)
I’m working on an ATS system that integrates LLMs for helping the recruiter in writing job descriptions, parsing CVs to Markdown, making summaries of CVs and suggest which ones match the best the job offers giving pluses and minus: https://beehive-ats.com/
rullopat··on Luce: First Electric Ferrari
The Thurstmaster steering wheel for the PlayStation looks nicer
rullopat··on Page Object (2013)
So if you have a page that is common between, lets say, 30-40 tests, you prefer to copy/paste the new selectors everywhere?
rullopat··on OpenAI to buy AI startup from Jony Ive
Ive just designed not practical thin furniture, like the bending iPhones and the ultra thin MacBooks with no way to release heat and the keyboard that was getting broken after pressing a bit too hard
rullopat··on docker2exe: Convert a Docker image to an executable
It's great for sending your 6 GB hello world exe to your friends I suppose
rullopat··on .NET on Heroku Now Generally Available
I'm using Kamal for a Ruby on Rails app on a dedicated server on Hetzner. Works like a charm! Did you find it difficult to deploy a .NET, because of the documentation oriented more towards Rails?
rullopat··on Self-Hosting like it's 2025
Great! Are you also deploying DB servers or any other kind of additional servers that are dependencies of those webapps?
rullopat··on Self-Hosting like it's 2025
What about Kamal? https://kamal-deploy.org/ Did anybody here use it for anything that is not a Ruby on Rails app?
rullopat··on I use Cursor daily - here's how I avoid the garbage parts
2000$? You wish!
rullopat··on X users are unable to post “Signal.me” links
And few days ago JD Vance went to Munich to say to EU leaders that they "there is a problem of freedom of speech in Europe"...
rullopat··on Ask HN: What are in your opinion the best personal websites?
Of course "your precious" is always a favorite :)
rullopat··on A 10-Year Battery for AirTag
I don't know somewhere else but, in Italy, buying / getting stolen stuff from somebody else is a specific kind of crime as well. You need to give a solid explanation why you have a stolen good.
rullopat··on Inkscape 1.4
Is it only me that, when I open Inkspace, I really cannot get anything done without watching a tutorial or reading docs / blog posts?
rullopat··on Almost all new car sales in Norway last month were EVs
So the only way to push all people to buy EV right now is… distort the market with taxes on combustion engine vehicles.
rullopat··on The Cheapest NAS
Can you tell us HOW to setup a NAS so that it doesn't need ECC RAM?
rullopat··on The Cheapest NAS
Ignorant person question here: “why they make NAS servers without ECC memory?”
rullopat··on xAI announces series B funding round of $6B
Just rename your company adding .AI and it will be immediately summer
rullopat··on xAI announces series B funding round of $6B
He is the richest man in the world and he doesn’t have 6B in the pocket to finance it on his own?
rullopat··on xAI announces series B funding round of $6B
You’re hired too
rullopat··on How might software development have unfolded if CPU speeds were 20x slower?
We wouldn't have software that does the same things, at the same speed, but with 10000x faster hardware
rullopat··on The Great Migration from MongoDB to PostgreSQL
That's what happens when you choose the next product / framework / methodology because of fashion or because FAANG is giving you the stuff for free, without thinking if it really fits your use case and that 99.9999% of the companies will not have the problems Google, Facebook, etc. have.
rullopat··on GIMP 2.99.18: The last development preview before 3.0
Probably the last time I've heard: "Gimp 3.0 is coming soon" 3G networks didn't exist yet.
