While that may be true this is a new level information i dont care about...
ruffyen··on The Physics of Fried Rice
Why in the hell is this considered...technical?
ruffyen··on Despite promises, cell carriers are still selling your real-time location data
What makes you think that Apple has any interest in your privacy?
ruffyen··on Trusted End Node Security
I would like to add some constructive conversation instead of banter about the cert...how does this get around malware/rootkit software that is embedded in the mobo or bios. How is this really any different than a LiveCD of Kali Linux or something?

I see that it is read-only media so I suppose that helps, but in the end its still only as secure as the machine that you run it from.

ruffyen··on Free Lossless Image Format
I think the important thing that needs to be addressed here before this file format takes hold is how the hell you are going to pronounce this format. I don't want another gif/gif debate.
ruffyen··on Show HN: Dddraft – a fast and beautiful publishing tool
Give me CommonMark and I'm in. No not really I will just forget to publish content like I always do.
ruffyen··on Show HN: Nooot – Share text using the key phrase, access it from anywhere
I use Push Bullet for that exact purpose
ruffyen··on Google got it wrong. The open-office trend is destroying the workplace
I am pretty sure this article is missing the point. Companies like Google and Facebook do in fact employ open work spaces. But they also deploy areas where employees can work with a lot more space. Areas like the sleep pods etc that Google is known for.

You can't just take the bits you like from a plan and throw out the stuff you don't want to pay for. There is a yin and yang to office spaces. This is a classic case of taking what you want and throwing out the rest because who needs that hippy bullshit.

ruffyen··on Show HN: I started a low cost dedicated server host, Exelion
http://i.imgur.com/3fpmImY.png -- Rackspace for a 15GB RAM server is actually around $500 a month. And to be quite honest the service there is fantastic. If you are going to run a production server you need assurances. Assurances that the linked vendor does not provide.
ruffyen··on Poll: Where do you host your static website?
markuphive.com
ruffyen··on Get a free 25GB Box account when signing up for Hojoki
I got 50GB for signing up with my android a while back, and I haven't seen a bill yet.
ruffyen··on Python for Data Analysis (new O'Reilly book from creator of Pandas)
Looking at the table of contents, this seems like a great reference book for several technologies. I think I am sold, especially with the free updates.
ruffyen··on Quote Stream - Push real-time stock quotes in JSON over web-sockets with node.js
I caught the stream changing things up right in the middle? What is the deal with this? -- ie this was on the main page where it is looking for AAPL and not MSFT
