rudle

Waterloo here.

I would think that we would have more of a presence on HN.

Should read: "How to Make Firefox Startup Suck less..."

PG: Any chance we could get the source URL in the RSS headlines?

Some user voting might be nice. This would likely create a canonical cheat sheet for each section.

For instance, here http://devcheatsheet.com/tag/ruby/ the first cheat sheet isn't even ruby specific, and I think this is a lose.

Otherwise, a great site I'll likely be using it in the future.

I just wish it was faster (on large mailboxes) and more stable. I'm stuck on gmail for now.

Beware: scroogle.com is not quite safe for work.

A must read.

Note that the stats are from Toronto, ON. Having lived there, I can comment on how dangerous some patches of road are to ride on. Many sections of bike lane are directly in the "door zone" and the lanes themselves are often obstructed by illegally parked cars. Despite the lively cycling community, the city is not geared (pardon the pun) towards cyclists.

Warning: Anecdotal Evidence ahead

I tried dvorak on a whim back in high school, and now I could never go back to QWERTY. It's something that can't really be described how much nicer it is to type on a dvorak keyboard. If you have a couple weeks to learn it well, I highly suggest it.

Good for you.

Blog Spam.

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In Toronto right now though.

I wish I could try this out, but it doesn't seem like its worth disabling vimperator and installing a non-tiling WM.

R.I.P. Hacker News

I was waiting for something like this to happen after reading Coding Horror this morning.

Everyone is scared of this site turning into to digg. The signal:noise is very good, and everyone appreciates that. I'm not sure banning stories from CH are going to help this matter, because the damage is already done. The cat is out of the bag, and Hacker News will either turn into digg, stay the same, or, most likely, settle at a happy middle-ground.

Hopefully there won't be any lolcats on the front page.

As a vim user, I have to ask - is that it? I didn't see much stuff there that I don't already have in vim.

I'm not trying to troll, I just am wondering what the big deal is.

Headline should read "63% of Americans reject Darwin's Theory of Evolution"

AFAIK, no Canadian schools provide .edu email addresses, this is definitely something to keep in mind.
