Say hypothetically you want to pursue a certain area of CS and become proficient in it. I struggle when the PDFs run out, and I look to contribute to a Open Source project in the area however there seems to the chasm(obviously expected given I've only read an introduction on the topic effectively). It's bridging that chasm that I don't get. How do i go from writing Spark jobs to contributing to Spark?

Mildly struggling with procrastination. I want to become a better developer who can contribute to Open Source projects but to be honest my inaction is likely the only thing in the way. This turns inward and I start disliking myself the more I think about my laziness.

If anything it gives scope for smart and talented people to work on something that if fails they can easily spin multiple startups from in various attempts to find a route to success.

This happens all over the place and we should be thankful people are either dumb/smart enough to take these risks on big ideas.

The great thing about mobile apps is that you can shift the workload onto the users device and end up having little to no infrastructure. Alexa needs to find a happy medium.
