There are already plenty of services offering smart DNS solutions (Unotelly, unblockus), I think I will stay in my corner with my simple click-and-play desktop app :)

But yeah, your solution would definitely work, but would be impossible to understand/setup for the non-techy users.

Yes, that's the trade-off here basically. The experience of browsing/searching/selecting a movie to then switch DNS is quite paintful, but works on TV. Smartflix is one-click-play, but doesn't.

But you are definitely right when saying that most people watch Netflix on TV.

The helper app is there to update proxies for www.netflix.com requests while watching a movie. As soon as you stop playing the movie it removes that specific proxy rule. It is better and safer than the common "smart DNS" trick because it does not route nor intercept requests to other domains.

Also, I will remove this helper in the incoming version (found a better way).

Chat works for me, could you provide a screenshot?

This is an early beta, feedback and suggestions welcome

I'm using https://github.com/mgp25/WhatsAPI-Official. Spam is the reason WhatsApp tries to take down these unofficial API, Whatsy is more of a bot and doesn't really bother anyone.

Founder here, I would be happy to answer technical or product questions.

Hi, founder here. This is an early beta and if there is any Twitter aficionado around I would love some feedback and suggestions.

Cheers! Romain

You're welcome! Any feedback you want to share ? Do you like the idea of "everybody vote for tomorrow's everybody's artwork" ?

Here it is: https://github.com/Exhibits/exhibits-chrome-extension

Good idea, I will make it available on github right away.

(until then you could check the source/.crx file, it's safe)

Hi HN,

I've created a project over the WE, "exhibits": http://getexhibits.co

Below is a quick pitch, feedback REALLY appreciated.

---

Exhibits is a social experiment where people vote for the artwork that will be exposed on Google.com the next day.

We favor hi-res digital art, photography or something relevant to current events. Don’t forget to mention where you found the image so the creator can be mentioned and get a visibility boost.

You can also easily embed it using :

<iframe id="iframe" src="http://vinetu.be/embed.html#superbowl frameBorder="0" width="480px" height="480px"></iframe>

(Other hashtags are supported)

It's using the most recent (never more than 5 minutes old) Vine videos. A bit tricky to get this TV effect without any load time between videos, hope you like it, it's pretty addictive once you start watching.

Feedback more than welcome :)
