The estimation for the Nismo head is ~$25k for just the head, not sure if that price included the valve train as well... Derrick's head is ballpark the same cost.

There is one more company in japan JMC,that is making heads as well, they have a recast of the N42 heads w/ better machining. https://party-k.co.jp/used/index-3536.html

I have a 260z with round-top SUs from my 240z with L26, its not bad, it's a single click to get that engine running, even after sitting for a long time.

On the carb setup, I find the fuel smell to be a bit overwhelming, to the point where I don't want to drive the car as much because the passengers reek of fuel when they get out. I cant even run a shitty CAT on the exhaust because it would get destroyed by the carb. This is probably also due to leaks in the body gaskets...

I think it's really just the turbo that I want, I cant get smoked by these civics :(

I’ve been restoring a 240z in my garage, it’s on a rotisserie…

Got a l28 turbo waiting to be refreshed as well.

I should stop working on this refactor and go work on it.

Nismo is coming out with a new DOHC head for the car... https://japanesenostalgiccar.com/nismo-dohc-nissan-datsun-l-...

There was also this gent who made his own DOHC off of a Honda head.

Hold up you can calibrate it yourself? I was under the impression you need additional hardware jigs to align cameras to fixed points, similar to a steering alignment.

Whats weird is that I know of at least 8 “modern cars” 2018+ that all have had cracked windshields.

3 of them are mine, my 2002 car has taken huge rocks like a champ…

Its big glass im telling you, esp because the recalibration stuff for Assistive Steering is like 7-800 bucks.

I knew Derrick Lehmer Jr before he passed away, just happened to know the name.

The Lehmers are cool people… Ron’s got a train spotting site.

a format that as worked well for me (and that I've brought with me to other teams)

``` issues/{username}/{issue-number}-{description} ```
The username prefix is helpful, for both organization, and locating branches.
Is it bad to think about suicide? It does not cross my mind as a "i want to harm myself" every-time, but on occasion does cross my mind as a hypothetical.
shame its not a built-in.
shame a lot of stuff is not built-in. :(
ublock origin filter that worked for me:
``` youtube.com###items > ytd-item-section-renderer.style-scope.ytd-watch-next-secondary-results-renderer:last-child youtube.com##[is-shorts] youtube.com###secondary ```

ahhhh nah i don't think it was PC Plus, but man I wish I could locate the magazine. :(

oh wow! back in August of 2005, I was on a trip to the UK and found a magazine that was talking about Counter-Strike hacks, and I think it was published by PC Plus,

I could be wrong but man I want to find that magazine now.

Why not? its a good use of ChatGPT, just throw the text at it, and let it figure out whats going on. It's not me executing code on my machine, or accidentally executing code.

I really want to know the power usage of the old fridge after it was fixed. :(

why is this website `daviddodda` while the linkedin message mentions `arun`.

This might be the forth or fifth time I've seen this type of post this week, is this now a new form of engagement farming?

do you still ride?

Dude i love play-cs, I feel like there is a slight lag in the browser compared to the native app that I was playing on Windows back in the day... maybe i gotta switch over to Chrome from FF.

I came into the thread to talk about the Russian one, is there any proof that Russian is actually required for the job, or is this a filtering mechanism that they can put in place in order to target the job listing to a specific person?

I mean if its really light weight, and I want to avoid bash, then JS is not too bad. The downside being that the built-ins are not really there compared to Python.

The famous answer.... _it depends_.

If I saw it on an application we would be for sure talking about it.

I think it addresses the, “would I have a beer/coffee with this person” part of the interview.

(I’m not a hiring professional, but have done hiring for the startup I work at)

I was in Vegas for the first time this weekend and also noticed that it’s mostly a concrete jungle. There were some small olive trees planted near Park MGM, but everything else we saw was concrete.

Vegas is depressing man, I don’t think I wanna go back.

I don't use it, but some family members do... From what they describe, it sounds like an app to complain/snitch on people.

Time to pull out Jack LaLanne power juicer, and some chicken thighs. RIP.

How fast do you normally drive?

Yeah I was curious about this as well. I really like the DSG gearboxes that are used in the Golf, maybe the tech is/was older?

I really just want a wireless 60v2. Been debating trying to make a new PCB that uses a nice!nano.

I’m sure the devils in the details.

My sister had an experience where she went to the doctor multiple times because she had felt something “off” about her health, fatigue, small aches in her chest.

Multiple times she was turned down for breast cancer screenings, she was told that she was too young (33 at the time). It was not until she had requested that the doctor write a note of their denial, along with reasoning, that they finally gave her some screenings.

It was stage 2(3?), it had affected several lymph-nodes, but she was lucky that she persisted and did not just say “oh ya it’s fatigue”. When I ask her about how she knew, it’s always the same response, that it was just a feeling, that she knew something was not normal.

It’s the storage factor that is appealing to me. Gone are the days of 4 devices sprawled in the closet…

Holy moly these are getting expensive 1k for something that goes in the closet is wild.

This was posted a while back, it has some good resources.
