I run a similar type of startup (betapunch.com) if you ever want some user testing done for your own website. Best of luck to you!
One more issue I am noticing is that from my "dashboard" page I can't easily see how to review more websites to earn more credits. For that matter I can't see how to do this from anywhere without having to submit my own website again for review...
I plan on showing popular search terms and usernames on the homepage.
Remember to click the videos from the search pages if you want to play. Also, if you see another #tag in text beside a video you can click it and it will execute a new search.
As to your second point we need to do a better job of marketing the fact that we do get "average joe's" to review your website. Not everyone that tests websites for us is a usability expert. The only thing I make sure of (before approving a tester) is that they know how to be critical of the website they are reviewing.
I feel videos are far superior to written feedback because I pay very close attention to what users DON'T do when navigating my website. I think that's just as valuable as watching what they actually do (if not more valuable). And you just can't get that from somebody writing their feedback mostly from memory.
I already switched it to "disabled" for you when I saw the message you posted in your description.
I guess I have to make this feature on my site more clear.
We do provide you with a direct URL to view your videos so you can share it with whoever you'd like to. I am still working on a solution for our customers to be able to download their videos.
Thanks for trying it out and I am glad you had a positive experience.
I have an email list of close to 1000 people that were interested in being a "early adopter" so I draw testers from that list.
I got some more feedback in regards to pricing and I have raised my price to $15 / test with higher discounts when multiple testers are purchased.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hope you enjoy the feedback.
I set up the email forwarding and tested by sending an email to that account so it would appear as a ticket. But I never got the email into my supportfu account... Also i agree that there is no clear call to action on where / how to sign up.
Good luck to you!
Video recorded feedback has been proven to be much better than text based feedback. Why write out a problem and have something get lost in translation when you can show them and talk them through it?
You can see the widget on my site http://betapunch.com. The widget is the little punch icon in the right corner of the page. It's not great as far as design goes, but that's why I am working on the 2nd variation of the widget I will be launching in a couple days.
Here's what it will look like: http://i.imgur.com/iBS7C.png.
I am trying to get as many people to grab the code and put it on their startup websites so I can make sure display and functionality are all in order in various different browsers.
So if you have a moment and want to give it a shot for your site that would be great! You can remove it whenever you'd like, I just want to make sure it does what it's supposed to. :-)
