rits··on Show HN: Cascadia Code, a Font for Windows Terminal and VSCode
If I got you right about ssh-agent, there is a console frontend https://www.funtoo.org/Keychain.
rits··on WINE 1.9.4 Released
Do you mind Nuke costs 5x more than Photoshop? Otherwise completely agree.
rits··on Show HN: A fireplace for Emacs
Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly; Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
rits··on Racket 6.0: New package system, new doc CSS, JIT support for ARM
Interesting. But looks like a software[1] and not a service[2]. Do Yandex plans to launch a public service on Cocaine?

rits··on 300ms tap delay removed on Chrome for Android
Just set the font size to a minimum in Firefox preference and it will stop doing this font resizing. To make text bigger change browser.viewport.desktopWidth in about:config to some smaller value.
rits··on For Sale: Soviet Military Ferrite Core Memory Stack Cube and Manual
As an >30 russian I can confirm. "Руководство по эксплуатации" is the standart term in USSR for any type of the end user manuals. Now user manuals just the "user" manuals (Руководство пользователя).
rits··on Don't reinvent the scrollbar
Also some times you can't read long article on your phone because its too long to fit in phone memory. For ex try to view html 5 single page spec[1] on your phone, especialy if your phone not 8 cores 2GB mem device.

rits··on FlowType: font-size and line-height based on element width
Absolutely agree. This is the right way how medium to long block of text should be styled. Except 62ex, not em, IMO.
rits··on NoFlo Kickstarter, the hacker's perspective
Flow chart can be beautiful or ugly just as a textual code can be beautiful or ugly. Also shape of nodes and connectors as important as indentation in text. Look for example of some graph from Nuke - http://www.spaille.be/dev/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/works_n...
rits··on Don't Copy-Paste from Website to Terminal
You can't just enable/disable software if it depends on other software or vice versa. But your package manager may have facilities for that, like Nix [ http://nixos.org/ ].
rits··on The raster tragedy at low resolution (1997)
While aggressive hinting provide sharp glyph rendering it ruins precise text positioning and geometry - http://www.antigrain.com/research/font_rasterization/
rits··on Crash Course: Design for Startups
I know the hacker's absolute weapon for testing quality of web design. Just make a screenshot of your site. And try to write a program that can recognize on this picture all the important stuff (headings, paragraphs, links, phones, keywords...) and determine the UI elements and other stuff (headers, footers, menus, buttons, ADs, etc). If writing such program would be easy deal, then your design is good enough.
rits··on Ask HN: Learning PHP, reluctantly, for a lisp hacker
docs.php.net is exhaustive, especially for a lisp hacker.
rits··on Simply Scheme is now available online
All you need is curl, pdflatex with pdfpages, and fresh dir.

curl -O http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~bh/pdf/ssch[00-27].pdf && pdflatex -jobname ssch-all-in-one "\documentclass{article}\usepackage{pdfpages}\begin{document}\includepdfmerge{$(for x in ssch??.pdf; do echo -n $x, -, ; done)}\end{document}"

rits··on Opera Unite reinvents the Web: a Web server on the Web browser
Opera Unite is going to be used mainly as UI for desktop apps... desktop apps with distributed UI.
