realalexhomer··on Show HN: LawPatch – JQuery for Law using Git
This is a really interesting concept and it seems like the execution is there too. As someone who used to do marketing for startups I do have some unsolicited advice about your spiel.

I'm not sure if 'jQuery for law using git' is the best tagline. While it sounds intriguing, and definitely got me as a developer interested, it took me far long to actually understand what you are doing.

From what I can tell you are shortening legalese to readable text, correct? So in my opinion it would be better to say that from the beginning. Legalese is a cool problem to solve, and would definitely have people interested, so if you just say that from the get-go I think it could be a lot more effective.

The jQuery thing sounds cool, but I think its one of those tag lines that sounds awesome but doesn't actually describe what you are doing.

Good luck!

realalexhomer··on Show HN: Easy React Universal App Example
Nice code, interesting how you split the server and the app into to different app.js files.

I was wondering if you can speak to how fast rendering react is on the server side now that 0.14 is out? I've heard somewhat negative things about doing it on 0.13, but 0.14 seemed like it might make a difference.

Thanks

realalexhomer··on Show HN: An interactive map of restaurants reviewed by the New Yorker
Really great idea! This is one of the first things I've ever seen on here that I think I will actually bookmark and use.

I'm just curious if you would mind divulging a little bit about how you managed to make this work? Are you just scraping the New Yorker site and sticking them onto the map, or is there something else going on?

realalexhomer··on Show HN: Enboard.co
Neat idea. Not sure if this is intended but your alpha survey thing is expired. Also out of curiosity, how would you say this is different from pinterest? (I have an idea of how it is but I'm curious about what your logic is)
realalexhomer··on Show HN: Booz Club – Real-Time alcohol inventories of local ma and pa stores
Really cool idea.

Would you care to describe how this works? Where is your data coming from? How do calls work and what kind of response do you get?

realalexhomer··on Show HN: I took a joke too far
Its a really funny idea but I found the title to be pretty inconsiderate to readers.

I read the whole thing waiting for the part where you took it too far, and then the article ended. It was then that I realized you did not take a joke too far, you made a joke. Is the 'too far' part that you went through with coding the bot in node? Because I don't really think that is 'too far'. There are tons of much more elaborate jokes online.

Now you could write another follow up blog, 'I took a title too far'.
