ransom1538··on Most Americans say "not in my backyard" to AI data centers
Lol. A data center is no more than a industrial bread bakery (oddly specific i know). The entire anti-data US center is ran by China. EG. You can run a rack of servers in your closet. China is doing a great job.
ransom1538··on Apple Silicon Exec Explains Mac Mini AI Demand and On-Device Future
"Apple has totally failed to deliver interesting AI experiences so far ..."

You think this is a mistake...

ransom1538··on EU Commission: addictive design Instagram and Facebook in breach of the DSA
The US should start fining all EU created software.
ransom1538··on Grok 4.5
Lol. I thought you were joking too! But you sound like a Gemini Power user!
ransom1538··on Grok 4.5
No it was more. In Brazil, 4 billion people died -- just one night without poetry jams.
ransom1538··on What Do We Know About the Microplastics Inside Us?
More devastating, the null results we would be really valuable with machines that can think. (Not humans that don't give a shit).
ransom1538··on Answering "why do you want to relocate?" during interviews
If you are in tech, never move for a job immediately. Work there for 90 days before you even touch a UHaul form. I have been at companies where within 20 minutes I hated my coworkers (playing EDM on high all day in office). Just get a hotel at motel 6. If you are loving the job then the move is a less stressful and enjoyable.
ransom1538··on Why we built yet another Postgres connection pooler
Can someone explain it to me like I am 5. Why did postgres win vs mysql? I don't know many companies at scale that use postgres. Slack, youtube, etc all use a mysql based sharding system https://vitess.io/. I thought the war was lost for postgres, but it seems to keep going. License issues? (Disclosure, I manage 'a few' mysql vms).
ransom1538··on How little exercise can you get away with?
Lol. Sorry typo. Fixed.
ransom1538··on How little exercise can you get away with?
"but weight training might not actually be a good fit to most people. I"

People will eventually realize it causes cancer. Weight training literally generates inflammation.

ransom1538··on Long Wave radio era set to end with switch-off
Why would humans need to communicate on channels bots cannot control?
ransom1538··on NSA lost access to Mythos amid Anthropic dispute
I was expecting you to crush me with links of all their great works.. but nothing.
ransom1538··on NSA lost access to Mythos amid Anthropic dispute
NSA has produced nothing. Does nothing. Why don't we just have them pick up garbage on the freeway to help out the tax payers? Let Anthropic and other adults push spying forward.
ransom1538··on Oracle shed about 20k roles globally in the last year
I easily do more than x 5 the workload I did in 2020. Replacing an employee with domain knowledge (only thing valuable now), with someone with zero domain knowledge is corporate suicide in 2026.

However, if you are oracle sending out consultants with zero domain knowledge around to help.... I would rather just use claude.

ransom1538··on Did my old job only exist because of fraud?
Canada has the same GDP as Texas (well worse). It is a 2nd world economy. You are better off getting a job in El Paso.
ransom1538··on Norway imposes near ban on AI in elementary school
"Students likely aren't allowed to use AI anyway for assignments"

This can be reduced to "Do students have access to a phone". Good luck after 12 years of age with that. That is a tough war.

ransom1538··on Norway imposes near ban on AI in elementary school
Teacher uses AI, creates lesson plan -> AI creates assignments -> Teacher gives assignments to students -> Students use AI to do assignment -> Teacher grades with AI -> Principal uses AI to monitor teachers progress.

This is happening at schools nationwide. It is unstoppable at this point. It's a bizarre charade.

ransom1538··on John Jumper to join Anthropic
So Mr. Jumper. You are committed? We need people longer term here. Your boss Mr. Settles is really excited about you joining.
ransom1538··on Migrate from OpenClaw
Good point, I will make it OpenClaw alpha
ransom1538··on Migrate from OpenClaw
I don't understand people running OpenClaw. I just full shot a prompt to create a better clone. Its extremely custom to my work and flow. I use it as a personal agent, emails, slacks + as a hardcore coding agent. If it sees a problem in email it will create a ticket, assign it to an agent monitor progress, get a PR ready for me - then it harasses me until I review the PR. If I ignore the PR it will call my wife. It can also reason on what emails need critical attention etc.
ransom1538··on Has AI already killed self-help nonfiction books?
Dale Carnegie -> Jim Rohn -> Tony Robbins -> [all hacks now]
ransom1538··on SpaceX to buy Cursor for $60B
A global centralized internet provider? I mean, just that, might be a trillion dollar company. Let alone build out datacenters? Those are not easy or cheap here on earth. You can build out datacenters at scale with minimal need for power or cooling. I think the current rate for a data center (not gpu) is 120million. Datacenters are super hip now too.
ransom1538··on Peopleless economy? Not technically impossible
"Why is it a winner takes all situation?"

I have lawyer agent x10 better than yours in a civil matter. Guess who wins. What value is second best lawyer?

ransom1538··on Open source AI must win
I am going to try to cheer you up. Hear me out. One day, not long from now, I am going to buy a humanoid bot for 40k. This human android will 1) get my groceries, 2) make my elderly parents meals, 3) go to the backyard and plant 1 acre of corn, 4) paint my neighbors house. 5) get the kids from school 6) change my oil.

What will happen? Massive. Deflation. What will you pay for an oil change? Corn? Meals? Everything is about to be free. But tokens will be expensive!! Sure but, you wont do white collar work anymore so it wont matter what tokens cost.

ransom1538··on US Consumer Price Index up 4.2%
Take on debt, as much as possible. Otherwise, inflation will end all. Inflation eats debt.
ransom1538··on Uber's $1,500/month AI limit is a useful signal for AI tool pricing
"$330k/year" Lol. I thought I clicked on hacker news 2022.
ransom1538··on Florida sues OpenAI and Sam Altman over AI risks
Chemical weather creation, known scientifically as cloud seeding, uses substances like silver iodide (\(AgI\)), dry ice (solid carbon dioxide). This is the worst conspiracy there is a conspiracy ever. Just google it. Just ask people that dumped it from a plane. The people saying the gov. controls the weather were right, proved tons of times. Just toss up silver iodide, wtf is this hard to conceive?

Florida doesn't lie? wtf?

ransom1538··on Anthropic confidentially submits draft S-1 to the SEC
Yeah. Sure. But, If you are charging for intelligence, I want in.
ransom1538··on The Siri for Families Apple Will Never Build
"Siri would be amazing if it could just be a wrapper for chatgpt. Otherwise, it is useless." - Every user in the world.
ransom1538··on A message from President Kornbluth about funding and the talent pipeline
"get a grad student union to try and combat the increasingly exploitative nature of academia"

Lol. Well you should introduce MIT to the concept of supply and demand. I am confident you can find people to pay MIT to work there.
