To get back to the beginning: I really do agree that the societal impact on the whole appears to be negative. But there are some positives and I wanted to share my example of that.
- Reddit: I only stumble upon questions by accident, and often on mobile where I’m not in the mood of typing long answers or code. - GitHub: I’m mainly here looking for answers myself, is there a nice way to look over all issues for a couple of projects so that I can easily see whether I could help somewhere? - discourse, discord, …: usually framework-specific, so not as ideal/comfortable as SO I imagine
Are others on the same situation? Where do you answer questions nowadays?
For that matter, mixing windows and Linux might be even better since they’ll need to adapt and transfer knowledge (although this would probably be painful and exhausting for everyone involved)
Mark Zuckerberg: “Haters are supporters; hate is a solution”
It would be nice to have a somewhat more definite answer to the question, but I’m doubtful we’ll ever know.
That’s one thing I don’t like about Twitter: I think single Tweets get blown out of portion quick, mainly because the media report on them as if „Twitter“ wanted something instead of single people.
Is it a somewhat new regulation? Is it easy to access the information?
It might be that your company did exactly that, probably some calls were routed away from you if the topic was something specific. I really doubt that even 20% of the company with a phone menu don‘t use it to route calls or give the agent additional information
With that in mind, I’m rolling with Bitwarden (maximal security afaik and great usability - it’s even linked with my iPhone) for personal stuff and keepass for work as I only have one machine I need passwords on. I don’t like Setting up something to sync a file if I don’t need to, so I’d never use keepass for multiple devices
Seriously cool idea, sounds like fun and it might be quite refreshing for the fire-folks to talk to like-minded people, it can be hard not to talk about your passion too much.
I don’t think so. First, roughly a third or so of the people in Germany are considered to be at a higher risk of Covid (not only due to age, but smoking or obesity). Depending on where you live this might vary, but it’s not as if only a small part of the population is at risk. This is why - even if you’re healthy - it’s an important topic because we as a society need to take care of each other. Second: there are young healthy people that are suffering from the effects of COVID for months. A friend of mine used to run and now struggles with walking for a couple of minutes, he wasn’t safe from the virus after all.
Despite that, the risk of getting COVID is quite low, so theres no reason for panic.
