PopSQL (YC S19) | Founding Engineers, Head of Engineering | REMOTE | https://popsql.com

Hi HN, I'm the founder of PopSQL, a collaborative SQL editor for teams. Our mission is to help teams collaborate using data. We graduated from Y Combinator in 2019, raised a seed round from Google's AI fund, and have an impressive list of customers[1] with a small but mighty team.

I'm looking for founding engineers[2] that want a lot of responsibility, want to own features end to end, want to move fast, want to work directly with customers and delight them, and want to participate in helping a startup go from zero to one.

Frontend: React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Apollo

Backend: node.js, Rails, AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, Terraform

As a solo founder, I'm also looking for a Head of Engineering[3] to own the engineering function so I can focus on other areas. This is your chance to build a team, define our technical architecture, and have a large/direct impact on the business.

Lastly, I'm also looking for a Head of Marketing. So far, PopSQL has been able to grow organically without any deliberate marketing activities. It's time to scale that up. So if you or someone you know has a mix of product marketing and demand gen skills in the B2B SaaS space, let's talk!

To apply, please email jobs@popsql.com and include why you're interested in PopSQL. Thank you!

PopSQL (YC S19) | Founding Engineer (frontend, backend, or full stack) | REMOTE | https://popsql.com

Hi HN, I'm the founder of PopSQL, a collaborative SQL editor for teams. We initially launched on HN in 2017 when PopSQL was a side project. Now it's a full blown business with hundreds of paying companies, growing month over month revenue, a team of 5, and funding from Gradient (Google's AI fund), FundersClub, and Y Combinator. We have a ton of things to build in order to fulfill our vision of helping teams collaborate using data.

We're looking for a founding engineer that will have a huge impact on the product and features we build. You'll get to define our technical architecture, processes, and culture. You'll own engineering end to end and get to build a team. You'll get to work with customers directly to figure out what to build. The ideal candidate has an eye for design and wants to build a delightful product.

Frontend: React, JavaScript, some TypeScript, Apollo GraphQL, Storybook, next.js, Tailwind

Backend: Ruby, Rails, GraphQL, Postgres, Terraform, Docker, AWS

Learn more about us and how we work at https://popsql.com/about. To apply, email me directly at rahil@popsql.com and tell me why you're perfect for the role. Thank you!

PopSQL | Founding Engineer (frontend or full stack) | San Francisco or remote | $110k-180k + 1-2% | https://popsql.com

PopSQL is building the new data platform for teams. As early Instacart employees, we’ve seen what easy access and shareability of data does for teams. It leads to better decisions. It reduces unfounded opinions. It fosters cross-team collaboration since all teams can speak the same language. Our collaborative SQL editor is already being used by top companies like DoorDash, Optimizely, Redfin, and more. We just finished YC S19 and raised a seed round from top investors.

Learn more about the role at https://angel.co/company/popsql/jobs. To apply, email me directly at rahil@popsql.com and tell me why you're perfect for the role.

I loved Sequel Pro and was disappointed when I switched companies and couldn't use it with Postgres. Plug: it's one of the reasons why I built PopSQL (https://popsql.io)
rahilsondhi··on Dbeaver – Multi-platform database tool
PopSQL (https://popsql.io) should give you the modern UI you're looking for. Although you will have to create a connection per database, unfortunately.

Harj, I'm curious, what's involved in "launching a city" for Triplebyte? Why not accept candidates from anywhere? From an employer's perspective, I would love your service in Toronto.

rahilsondhi··on PopSQL – Modern, collaborative SQL editor for your team
PopSQL co-founder here, if you choose to share your database host, port, and name with your team, then we'll store that on our servers, but never your database username and password. If you choose to get a link to share your results, the results are uploaded from your computer directly to S3. Hope that helps!
rahilsondhi··on Ruby on Rails 5.1
Using npm alone is like using bundler without a Gemfile.lock. If one person does `npm install` today, and a new teammate does `npm install` in a month, the new teammate will install different versions. With yarn, there is a yarn.lock to make sure everyone gets the same versions when they run `yarn install`.

Also, yarn is way faster.

Also, Google should do this for Pixel.

rahilsondhi··on PouchDB, the JavaScript Database That Syncs
