The best computer scientists I know (PhDs from top universities in US) cannot write hello world in any programming language.
Some of the best software developers I have met, with a history of shipping performant and intuitive software, have no clue about computer science.
Another relatively neutral source on reporting on Central Asia is https://www.indianpunchline.com/about-me/ if you are interested.

This kind of nonsense comments appear whenever there are people with positive comments on China or Russia. I guess my top level comment on this thread will be one of the "Russia-patriot" ones. For the record, I am an Indian living in Malaysia - I simply choose to read proper sources and be informed of geopolitical events rather than parrot US propaganda. I learned to do so after reading a book by an American, often mentioned in HN (the book is Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman).
I'll believe it when I see "anti-China" posts being removed from the first 3-4 pages with as much enthusiasm as much as "anti-US" posts. Or when flags are removed from posts related to death of Kobe Bryant (or conversely, discussion about the death of a nobody like Bill Gates' father demoted by moderation action).
Strongly agree. For example in HN itself if someone poses a fact-based positive opinion about China, it is down-voted whenever Americans are online and voting (does not happen when Europeans are online).
So dislike/down-vote has 0 value. In fact, majority of the comments in this thread are against Youtube, which tells me that Youtube has made the correct decision.
As this does not infringe on your freedom in any way, I expect my government to legislate on my behalf to force Apple to do what I want.
This is pretty standard as noted in the book Manufacturing Consent.
- Free healthcare - Free high quality education - Everything else is free market (which includes legal but controlled access to drugs, prostitution, etc.) - No private ownership of vehicles; everyone MUST use public transportation which should be accessible - clean air - walkable - diversity of culture (so for example it should be as easy to find a Bible reading club as a psytrance nighclub)
How is the consumer better off when a choice for them has been removed? If Apple's keyboard is superior, then consumers will automatically chose that and not buy this guy's software. How is this "nanny state" behaviour by Apple justified?
