radicsge··on Software Developers: how to get a raise without changing jobs
Very similar story to mine! :) I was hired together with a guy like this, knew all the fancy keywords and didnt want to touch the old code. We were lucky to refuse him, but it was just by chance. He left the company few months later.
radicsge··on [JavaScript] experience of migrating from MongoDB to PostgreSQL
Disclaimer: It is relatively a small user base project (not MongoDB primary audience), but hope you will find some interesting details.

Thanks for reading ;)

radicsge··on I’m Done Pretending SF Tech Is Visionary
Facebook is monopoly, yet they do not. Tesla, Canonical, Red Hat,AWS, National Geographic, Nikon etc etc.. is not monopoly, but they do have real added value.
radicsge··on I’m Done Pretending SF Tech Is Visionary
It's not necessarily bad, but as "with great power comes great responsibility" is not followed here, is the real problem.

If you are lucky and became incredible reach you should give back to the world. And not just the 0.1% to have media coverage (like facebook did when their cheating got out)...

Apple once were the biggest company, yet i dont know anything that would shine any good light on that company... Their last notable act was that their blackmailed the EU..

Thats why i hope no company will overgrow the countries...

Yet if facebook would disappear, nothing would be lost. Somebody would overtake the position in no time. This is not true for real value added companies.
radicsge··on Brain training exercises might just make you better at brain training exercises
I believe this also, if you dont learn new things/practice exercise (something where you need to think), you will loose IQ (like in a long holiday). So in long term brain training exercises are essential.
radicsge··on 80% of current drug applications in China failed to meet analysis requirements
It's not about the face. It was clearly written there "local pharmaceutical companies trying to produce Western drugs struggle to turn a profit"... What about Theranos in the US? Same..

Isn't it because the turn everything into profit within two years "success or nothing" attitude?

If something ruins the world, it will be two countries that under the surface is way too similar to each other.

radicsge··on The rise of the corporate colossus is a giant problem
It's not that you cant get there,

but indeed that they are out of control: they can remove money from an arbitrary economy and not necessarily put it back (see apple that sitting in an incredible amount of cache) => (they dont need to hire people locally.. at least not as much) => they -at the moment are- making poor countries/people even poorer, rich ones even richer => they have more and more power in less and less hands

radicsge··on Yandex.Mail's successful migration from Oracle to Postgres [pdf]
In this aspect there is really no differences between these 3 countries, China hasn't started a war like US, but using it's power to push boundaries in both west and east.

radicsge··on Superblocks: how Barcelona is taking city streets back from cars
.. or more willing to see the big picture, rather then their own comfort. There are places when common should come first not individualism.
radicsge··on Superblocks: how Barcelona is taking city streets back from cars
Don't know about Hyde park, but all these small distance problems can be solved by bike, which is way faster then car in this range. Don't see a problem here, really.
radicsge··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
Why they win, we dont know, but the government ask for gifts time-to-time: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-17/cisco-to-i... there are similar stories for Microsoft etc, but even Morgan Stanley almost went to bankruptcy in 2008 but in 2009 jan, fully pledges itself to help to build one of the department for Beijing children hospital till its estimated finish date 2011?
radicsge··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
I suspect the same
radicsge··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
There is already players offering that for free with stolen content. No good comming out from joining that game. Here they were probably asked to invest a considerable amount of money to generate jobs. Like recently there are police in every corner in Shanghai to officially fight against the bar parking practice e.g. parking everywhere. But what is more likely that the sh government was asked to create X new jobs. Apple is not the first one that was asked to contribute back to the economy otherwise its services will be restricted.
radicsge··on Apple invests $1B in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing
I hardly doubt this money is for real investment most probably just to please to government, this 1B is eventually will be distributed among citizens without a job. Also the big cities became super crowded as being extremly urbanized. In some days traffic jams starts at 3 and between 5-7 everything is just stuck. It might be also a way how goverment try to slightly reduce these issues.
radicsge··on Five hundred days using Ubuntu Phone
Sounds quite ok, but the question is when Meizu 5Pro comes out... March is already over, I hope it is not cancelled..
