Man you are missing out, but I'm going to check out now because I think I've made my point, and I've clearly rustled some people's jimmies. Also, regarding selling exploits, the government is one my biggest clients. They sometimes use these exploits to bust onion sites where "illegal activity" is taking place. I personally don't give a shit what they use it for, can be for good or evil. You pay me 50k, I give you a Drupal 0-day with privesc and persistence. I sell you the gun, you decide what to do with it. Red team operations are all legal, people hire me for that. I perform zero illegal activity. :)

Anyway, remember that happiness is just dopamine. And dopamine gets released when you ejaculate. It doesn't get released as much when you find the missing semicolon. Don't overcomplicate it. Contentment is long-term average happiness. Keep it simple, have fun.

You're partly right. I work for myself, I fucking love my work, I'm a proper hacker, actually own investment property, two sports cars, and have a pretty nice house paid off for a single guy at 29, but I can't find a decent woman to start a family with.

I tried, before I got to where I am, I got out of a 6 year relationship with a girl who was a software engineer. We were perfect together, honestly. But at the end of the day, she chose pursuing her career in one state, and at the time I pursued my career in a different state in the US, because I wouldn't marry her. Do you think a guy like me was going to follow her around? No. Do you think she's going to find a guy doing better than me now? Slim pickings. She's going to settle for someone willing to follow her around. She texts me hinting at getting back together. Ok buddy.

Yes, if I put my income on Match.com and professionally taken pictures, I get dozens of matches a day, but let's be real, they're not here for my pretty brown eyes.

In what fucking world is it difficult for a successful man to find a decent, loyal woman to marry? I want kids, I want to have a son, but I know that the society as it is will cause a lot of turbulence to my marriage and how I raise my kids, even MORE SO than when I was a popper! Money just makes more problems these days! So what, I have to stop being a man and kill the very nature of myself of being motivated and determined just to keep a family together? GTFO.

Anyway, this phenomenon is true even in countries that were previously highly conservative. Thanks to technology, we've enabled our primal biology to roam incredibly free regardless of where you are. So now guys like me have a super easy time at getting laid, and actually having a functional family feels damn near impossible.

Why do I take the risk? Because what's the alternative? I have friends like that. They are super depressed, playing video games all day, shitty jobs they hate, some even living with their parents. Personally, I'd rather have my problems than be depressed, because at least I feel energetic and strong in my current state, doing things I like. I just can't start a family, which absolutely sucks.

I mean, we're currently living through the equivalent for men.

Except instead of "A" for adulteress, it's "L" for loser.

Funny how the tides come and go. But you're right, we don't want to keep swinging the pendulum back and forth, we should work towards balance. The only way you can balance an unstable system is by learning more about it and accepting its truths.

@theflyinghorse, Thank you.

To begin, it's not about what they DO, it's about what they'll GET. First, we need to acknowledge that we have a hole to dig ourselves out of, this is a societal issue. The pendulum has swung far into the liberal side, and it was originally for a good purpose. It was to stop taking a shit on the weak. Except the pendulum is now parallel to ground-level, and we're glorifying the weak. Trump was the country's collective middle finger to this phenomenon - the fact that he was even considered.

So the solution here is for us to all step back and stop discussing genders and new ways to play with butt plugs. We need to stop worrying about hurting feelings. Let's get scientific. This change in attitude will at least get us better conservative candidates to keep this train from derailing further. We are in desperate need of societal structure that promotes character strength, grit, perseverance, stoicism - traditional man qualities. For lack of a better resource, we need to more closely adhere to the system that extremely smart people came up with a long time ago, religion, minus the heaven and hell. I don't know how to enforce this system, but I am sure there is a way to have law compensate for the fairy tale.

Secondly, the fact that these men are unmotivated isn't necessarily because they're too dumb to learn productive skills, it's because there's no fucking point. Some of them might get a PHP coding job at some big corp running some internal legacy web app. They'll make $55k a year, but they'll have no marriage prospects, because sitting next to him is another girl making $60k doing an iOS internship.

She DEMANDS a man who is at least equal or more financially capable. He bites. He gets all athletic and he plays nice, takes her out, they get married. Over the next 7 years, her natural tendencies of hypergamy make her feel like she can do better, or that he's not doing ENOUGH. This puts stress on him and the relationship. They get divorced.

He obviously also feels his polygamous drive, but he already had a hard enough time finding the first chick. He feels like he can't act on his desires, but she feels justified that he's simply not enough, she wants more/better, which she can get as a single woman making $60k a year. She thinks she can get a guy who makes 5 mil a year who has time and patience to have an amazing physique. She believes that man will marry her, because of all the love stories on Netflix.

How do you fix this? You tell the woman if you she gets divorced, she can't legally remarry. You tell the man that if he cheats, he's a sex offender, which is basically an extreme of what happens today, but it places a check on men's polygamous tendencies. Restricting a woman's capacity to remarry should place a check on hypergamous tendencies.

I just came up with this in 5 minutes. It's a shitty system. It builds on an already shitty system called marriage. But the point is we can implement laws to take account for these natural tendencies that we've been blatantly ignoring. Other cultures around the world that have existed for tens of thousands of years have words in their lexicon that English can't even translate, like "eeb" in Arabic which roughly means "shame" or other words pertaining to couples' behaviors that literally have no direct translation. Maybe we can learn from them and the US can actually begin its first venture to building real CULTURE with families and stuff!

If you don't want to participate, fine, don't get married. But don't get married unless you fucking mean it, because then you are ruining children when they grow up in broken households and the cycle of broken people continues.

Basically, the question you are asking is not the right one currently, because there are bigger forces at play with regards to society as a whole right now. We need to start with that.

r0pchainer··on Reckoning on Sexual Misconduct Divides Women Over How Harsh Judgment Must Be
So I think I understand and sympathize with the people who've come out about sex crimes or sexual harassment. There are some very serious, truly heartbreaking cases involving women who had to live in fear and had their future relationships ruined because of these terrible acts.

But honestly, it's getting to the point where asking a woman out for coffee seems like I might be harassing her.

I think there is a sexual dynamic that everyone avoids talking about, because exploring it in such public light would be taboo. How do we distinguish between what is primal, not yet understood when it comes to sexual dynamic (body language, looks, etc...) prior to engaging in an intellectual conversation, and the discomfort that women might feel when they are approached by an entity they deem as harassing?

I don't mean to confuse creepy and harassing, but I expect to be forgiven if I was 18, new to this world, and trying to get this to work without consciously ignoring all of these warning messages about harassment. It just seems like the solution is binary for the inexperienced. Either don't approach women, or approach them _hard_. The latter may cause some issues.

I also don't want to take away from the truly heinous sex crimes that are committed every day, but I think the lines need to be clearer for those of us not so sharp or experienced.
