Happy Ungoogled Chromium user though
1. Having access to the user's home directory is way more serious than being able to install drivers or whatever
2. There are a million other ways to escalate to root by obtaining the user's password
I also don't understand the point of these distros, just install Arch with KDE via archinstall, it literally takes 15 minutes. Why is it that people feel the need to use someone's Arch setup?
Chromium is an open source project, forks such as Ungoogled Chromium exist, I literally had 0 issues with uBOL on Ungoogled Chromium.
People who complain about MV3 probably spent more time complaining about it than actually trying uBOL and seeing that it works just fine.
It doesn't matter where the content comes from, only the quality/usefulness matters. If you are opposed to this idea, the next decades are going to be very tough for you :)
There is a reason why systemd became the default and other niche init systems have faded into obscurity.
Sure, it may be more complex than your pile of shell scripts, but that's because it does the same things better, and has a lot more functionality that you will need at some point, and good luck replicating that by hacking shell scripts.
The whole point of martial arts is the art itself.
The point of software isn't the process of creating software (it was never about that), it's the end result, and all people care about is that the end result is good. And if you don't like that, you can choose another industry.
2. Gets mad that people he doesn't like DARE to sign up and use it
3. Announces that he won't allow people he doesn't like
4. Makes a big deal out of it like anyone cares
I dunno this is hilarious but pretty sad, the guy clearly has issues
Isn't it better to invest your time in setting up GitLab once and not have to deal with Forgejo being a toy project?
It literally takes 1 compose.yaml to self-host GitLab Omnibus, and 1 compose.yaml for the runner. You have been misled by suckless fans if you think that self-hosting GitLab is more complex than Forgejo.
> Last time I ran gitlab, it required oodles of memory - it's just me!
It requires what, 8GB of RAM? That's not "oodles" by any definition.
Hardware requirements are nowhere close to high either.
SI units everywhere

I think Windows has "English International" locale or something
For who?
There is no problem, just pirate it.
> its unethical (and illegal)
I guess I'll just keep doing it then, and someone else can keep crying about it on orange computer reddit website
It does though, in the end attackers always win. If something is a "cat and mouse game" then it's unwinnable by design from the defender side.
Sure, you can keep playing it if you feel like it, but at some point the attacker will be indistinguishable from a legitimate user and you will lose that fight.
