prometheon1··on Why DuckDB is my first choice for data processing
DuckDB supports this as well, depending on which benchmark you look at it regularly performs better on those datasets than Polars.
prometheon1··on Vaultwarden commit introduces SSO using OpenID Connect
I'm in a similar situation, having many volunteers does not mean we have the budget to pay 5-10 euros per month for all of them for all the tools needed for work. Self-hosting and managed hosting of open-source software are the best option for us, including SSO and password management

In my opinion, your comment is not in line with the guidelines. Especially the part about sillytavern being the only LLM frontend that matters. Telling the devs of any LLM frontend except sillytavern that their app doesn't matter seems exactly like a shallow dismissal of other people's work to me.

How should an MCP server like git work in your opinion? Should it then be written as a FastAPI server so that you have an openapi spec instead of just a CLI?

prometheon1··on QwQ: Alibaba's O1-like reasoning LLM
I don't know if this is being done already, but couldn't we add some training data to teach the LLM how to spell? We also teach kids what each letter means and how they combine into words. Maybe we can do this with tokens as well? E.g.:

Token 145 (ar) = Token 236 (a) + Token 976 (r)

Repeat many times with different combinations and different words?

One way of doing this that might save you some effort is writing a plugin for Raycast, but I have no idea whether this covers the use cases you have in mind.

Seems doable: https://github.com/raycast/extensions/blob/main/extensions/o...

(Not affiliated, I just have Raycast installed and use it sometimes)

prometheon1··on Zen, a Arc-like open-source browser based on the Firefox engine
Same! I switched back from Brave to Firefox last year after discovering that Sidebery has tab panels (which I think Arc calls workspaces) that can be set to use the same Firefox container. I want to be logged into different accounts of the same service, in Brave I had different "profiles" for this, but I like that now in Firefox I can have everything in a single window and I can easily switch between containers by switching to a different panel. (Which I have a hotkey for)

prometheon1··on Ask HN: What macOS apps/programs do you use daily and recommend?
Spaces sound somewhat similar to "panels" in Sidebery for Firefox, they can be used to split workspaces, e.g. for different projects/clients. You can make each panel use a different container, which is helpful to be logged in with different users on the same websites. You can also "unload" panels easily to save RAM and to ignore them until the next time you work on them.

Could you explain what makes Arc Browser a game changer in terms of productivity?

I use Firefox with a vertical tabs extension and based on the screenshots it looks very similar (also, using Firefox Containers solves the same problem as GoLogin afaict)

I would agree if you change "any" to "most". Here are some examples of "any" manufacturers that are willing to do more:

This future world with all these solar panels might also have lots of intercontinental HVDC cables to spread that power around the world:

Nevertheless, if we install enough panels, it will be so cheap that the cost is negligible for most applications.
