pram··on The top secret URSALA, RAQUEL, and FARRAH satellites (2025)
The Air Force was part of the army, not the navy. You probably mean the marines (which also has its own fixed wing air force lol)
pram··on Grok 4.7
RLHF I presume, considering how everyone has their own CLI code harness these days. They want mass interactions with users on real tasks.
pram··on How, Exactly, Could A.I. Kill Us?
A plausible scenario I heard recently is a scam bot (that is to say, prompted to "make money through any means possible") basically buys its own hosting, because it now has money, and then makes more scam bots to keep paying the bills. Then the scam bots start generating/selling exploits on forums etc. This is pretty amusing.
pram··on Oracle’s 6am layoff emails hit staff amid new wave of cuts
The main problem with ReiserFS is Reiser killed his wife so it is unmaintained.
pram··on Apple's Siri AI Can Be Swapped Out for Claude, ChatGPT, Code Shows
Gemiri, clearly
pram··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
I think this is a “principal” problem. In 2001 and Alien the principal is the mission, not the crew. Not really. HAL reconciles his instructions by removing the crew from the equation. Ash is told the crew is expendable and has no conflict about it etc
pram··on Copying login keychains between Macs fails on Secure Enclave Macs with Tahoe
Yes you can make private keys that are encrypted by the secure enclave, rather than stored inside it. The "sc_auth" tool on macos has a "ssh-exportable" variant
pram··on Feeling Sad about AI
IDK man it’s a golden era for one-man indie games right now (I just finished Endacopia) and that can only increase with AI assistance. I wouldn’t be too cynical about it
pram··on Copying login keychains between Macs fails on Secure Enclave Macs with Tahoe
IIRC there are options for exportable and un-exportable private keys when you make one in the secure enclave. Going to guess Tahoe made them un-exportable by default.
pram··on Initial effects of AI technology on employment look positive
Yes I’ve seen very little change over the past 3 years in my role (platform engineering) except mostly JIRA tickets are more unreadable because people just have Claude vomit a novel into it.

I mean I use it every day of course, but the velocity of work doesn’t really seem to be budging lol. And frankly a lot of time wasted on AI made gadgets, and meetings about those gadgets (look at this dashboard Claude made! etc)

pram··on IBM Bob
I thought the image was a joke, but you really pay with Bobcoins.. lmao

https://bob.ibm.com/pricing

pram··on Google Antigravity TOS: 3rd party usage can get Google account suspended
This is exactly why I haven't used any of Google's AI stuff. Unlike other providers, I'm risking my email and internet service (GFiber!) to some capricious ban-happy whim you probably can't even appeal.
pram··on Show HN: Running 104GB Qwen3.8-Flash-Next on 48GB Mac with at ~12 tok/s
You should try Glimmer MTP. Qwen3.8 27B seems to have weird memory and caching issues on oMLX
pram··on Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1
The comments it makes are so bad, long, and incomprehensible I just strip them all with sed these days.
pram··on Breaking Claude Code Opus 5 Auto Mode
Claude Code has a built in sandbox for terminal commands which is very simple to enable, if nothing else: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/sandboxing
pram··on Omarchy: Any User Process Can Escalate to Root
This isn't true at all lol, if you make a PR to the formulas it is certainly reviewed. By a real human no less. wtf are you talking about
pram··on Calibrate Before You Accelerate: Bias Toward Action in a New Role
FWIW I've been saying it in a sarcastic way since I was in my teens because of the Simpsons where Bart says "It's a load bearing poster." I assume if anyone uses the phrase (that isn't like a civil engineer) it probably came from here lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRVExJZKIT8
pram··on IBM Unveils Next Generation Dual-Architecture Processor for IBM Z and LinuxONE
Much like Oracle, they extract money from companies trapped on Db2
pram··on Qwen3.8-Flash-Next
It's in Unsloth Desktop already. Looks like it's 73GB, so 128GB Mac or Strix Halo etc will work. Exciting!
pram··on New Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra
Assuming future models will be any cheaper is not a good gamble lol
pram··on Why your local LLM feels dumber than it is
I am getting like ~25 tps with M5 Max 64GB. Unsloth Desktop and Qwen 3.8 27B Q6 KXL
pram··on Project Cybersyn (2022)
Yes the Bell System, for example, had a lot of "funny money" stuff going on with Western Electric. They called it "gold plating"
pram··on Project Cybersyn (2022)
Isn’t this how conglomerates work? Like Samsungs memory division refusing to sell to Samsungs phone division recently.
pram··on Claude Code May–August 2026 weekly limits promotion
I haven’t had any issues with Fable or Opus code-wise, but the way it has started writing recently has almost become incomprehensible.

At the end of a long session it will start saying stuff like “There are smoke tests on the foundation-gates that are left for the cutting seam checks on these domains, which is genuinely your decision”

Never before the past couple months have I ever not been able to understand wtf it’s even saying lol

pram··on Qwen 3.8 27B
These templates actually fix the effort selection for LM Studio/3.8

https://huggingface.co/froggeric/Qwen-Fixed-Chat-Templates

pram··on Unearthing a 31 year old Easter egg in Ecco the Dolphin
Yes I rented the game and it took me about 4 hours to figure out how to jump over the first rocks in level 1 (which initiates the alien abduction)
pram··on Qwen 3.8 27B
Glimmer works really well as an "explore" agent model (like in Opencode.) It seems to be extremely efficient at searching and collating that info, and executing commands.

From my testing so far, Qwen 3.8 is better at code but it tends to meander and take forever if it has to look in a lot of places. Glimmer will use like ~1k tokens to formulate a plan and Qwen 3.8 will routinely go over 10k

pram··on How Claude marks AI-generated content
Yes the length of comments Opus 5 leaves is exhausting. Not to mention it will insert info thats only relevant within the current session. I've just been deleting all of them lol
pram··on Why MySpace fans want it back as relaunch hinted
Sure to be as successful as the Digg resurrection lol
pram··on Atlassian Rovo Exfiltrates Data, Bypassing Controls
I can’t get over how bad “Rovo” is. Somehow more aggressive and useless than Microsoft putting “Copilot” everywhere.

It’s objectively worse than using something like Cowork + MCP, AND they injected it into every single page on JIRA and Confluent which has made web browsing way slower while all the junk is loading.
