polski-g··on U.S. allows Anthropic to release Mythos AI to ‘trusted’ US organizations
Lockheed Martin is able to restrict access of their product details to only us citizens.

It's not impossible, it's just hard.

polski-g··on U.S. allows Anthropic to release Mythos AI to ‘trusted’ US organizations
Yes
polski-g··on The world is heating up, and policies are not helping
Banning sulfur dioxide emissions from tanker fuel was probably a very, very bad idea. It was providing a cooling effect for the entire planet.
polski-g··on Micron locks in historically high memory prices for five years
Those are literally the only 3 DRAM manufacturers left; all the other ones left the market over the past 15 years because the margin was too low.

Just don't buy consumer electronics for the next 3 years. You might even be able to buy a non-smart TV in the near future because of RAM prices!

polski-g··on Micron locks in historically high memory prices for five years
Price-fixing is illegal. Raising prices is not.
polski-g··on Micron locks in historically high memory prices for five years
More production can only come online if the producers have money to do so.

Turns out Apple fucked Micron in 2023 so they couldn't expand capacity: https://9to5mac.com/2026/06/25/micron-exec-suggests-apples-a...

polski-g··on Framework's 10G Ethernet module exposes USB-C's complexity
So the entire Framework card's casing should have been copper?
polski-g··on Computer use in Gemini 3.5 Flash
They have a 3.1-pro-customtools model which they allege its better at using custom tools/MCPs/etc.

It is not better.

polski-g··on Too many R packages: CRAN is inundated with submissions
spamming refresh on npmjs's latest packages list is a crazy experience.
polski-g··on Rent collections are down in New York
And for things that don't arise to that level, but would still be massive red flags for prospective tenants?
polski-g··on Rent collections are down in New York
Credit reports do not have a section for "plays music loudly" or "secretly smokes by the bathroom window".
polski-g··on Anthropic to Require ID Verification for Certain Capabilities Starting July 8
You can recoup the costs quicker if you resell access to your local LLM on a reselling service.
polski-g··on The Token Compression Illusion: Why I'm Skeptical of RTK
Very cool. I'll probably switch away from AFT to this. Can you add tree-sitter-bash?
polski-g··on Anthropic Is Still at Odds with the White House over Claude Fable 5
> Why did Amazon inform the government rather than Anthropic?

Because they like the USA and are concerned about its safety wrt cyber security?

polski-g··on Windows 11 users are tired of MS account requirements creeping into everything
So the encryption of your personal computer is at the whims of the least competent employee at Microsoft?
polski-g··on GLM 5.2 Is Out
Evaporative cooling!? Does that mean it disappears into the sky to make stars?
polski-g··on What happens to an economy when it's too hot to work?
This is coming to an end now that almost every country is below replacement fertility.
polski-g··on Amazon CEO's talks with U.S. officials triggered crackdown on Anthropic models
Did it cross your mind that Amazon cares about the security of the United States and reported the jailbreak to protect it?
polski-g··on GLM 5.2 Is Out
Dario is the most retarded CEO I've seen. CEO job is to negotiate complexity, and he's failed every step of the way.
polski-g··on Statement on US government directive to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5
"these things are super dangerous weapons. They're also available for $20/mo with a stolen credit card."

"These are more dangerous than nuclear weapons, which are controlled by AECA. Also our workforce is 50% non-citizen"

Just a complete clown show over there.

polski-g··on Statement on US government directive to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5
Because the US military and it's contractors are good?

"Why did they open an orphanage instead of pouring acid into a town water tower?!?"

polski-g··on Kimi K2.7-Code: open-source coding model with better token efficiency
I used glm5/5.1 for 60 days. Certainly better than Sonnet 4.6, not as good as Opus or GPT.

Use DCP or Magic Context plugin in OpenCode to keep the context below 160k and you're fine.

polski-g··on MiMo Code is now released and open-source
Yes the subscription plan costs literally the same thing as just paying API-per-token pricing.
polski-g··on MiMo Code is now released and open-source
Opencode didn't install properly? Its just "mise use -g opencode@latest"
polski-g··on MiMo Code is now released and open-source
Because its currently impossible to "contribute to Opencode".

There are over 500 pages of open issues, up from 78 less than a month ago. They are doing nothing to halt the garbage/duplicates that pop up, and not even addressing legitimate PRs/reports.

polski-g··on Anthropic's Self Governance Is an Act of Social Violence
> people can be violent by causing emotional harm.

No. No, they can not. That's just being mean.

polski-g··on Ads in New York must now label AI-generated 'synthetic performers'
Certainly unconstitutional compelled speech. And discriminatory compelled speech too as it only targets art created with a certain toolset.
polski-g··on Providers, not insurers, are responsible for excess U.S. health care cost (2024)
22% isn't bad to remove the need for me, personally, to negotiate prices for services. I wouldn't know where to begin on how to price a bone marrow transplant, but UNH does.
polski-g··on Providers, not insurers, are responsible for excess U.S. health care cost (2024)
Because human labor is supply side constrained.

There's only so many doctors, only so many MRI machines, so many valve stents, so many syringes.

Everything on earth is supply constrained.
