plink··on Zillow's second letter about McMansion Hell is still wrong
What if Godzilla were to read the blog and decide that house was a good landing place for his foot? So what.
plink··on A homeless man who turned his life around by offering book reviews
So, there is an entire class of people identifiable by their poor work ethic? Your fourth paragraph makes a stab at Randian logic, but without her grammatical clarity.
plink··on Hunter S Thompson: A Man Has to BE Something
The chaff I've heard from elder spouters of wisdom outweighs the grains of wisdom by a large factor. I'm no spring chicken, so I've had time to hear plenty, indeed a surfeit. Survivorship bias has generated more crap than can easily be navigated.
plink··on How Badly Must a C.E.O. Behave Before Pay Is Clawed Back?
I thought Trump said he was waving his pay.
plink··on Pirate Joe’s, Maverick Distributor of Trader Joe’s Products, Shuts Down
So, they were claiming exclusivity on the descriptor "pirate"?
plink··on McDonald's delivery to be available in 3,500 restaurants by the end of June
I imagine using Uber Eats would actually degrade the value image of McDonalds' product. I'd rather have a clown car than a duck-taped jalopy deliver my Big Mac and fries.
plink··on How J.J. Abrams Created a Reading Experience Unlike Any Other
Does the book conclude with the revelation that the reader endured purgatory while reading it?
plink··on 110M-year-old dinosaur discovered with skin and soft tissue
There is no skin nor soft tissue, just fossilization of them.
plink··on A crashed advertisement reveals logs of a facial recognition system
By cross-referencing your name (from your credit/debit card) with your zip/post-code, stores are able to determine specifically who you are with greater probability than without the zip/post-code.
plink··on The House just voted to wipe out the FCC’s landmark Internet privacy protections
This vote will be a lubricant for just such black hat cracking. The Congress opened the barn door on their own members' privacy.
plink··on A Woman’s Job Interview Was Cancelled Because She Asked a Simple Question
I pray this company perishes solely on the demerits of this email exchange. They flew their true colors too early.
plink··on Teach Yourself Computer Science
Great. A pinheaded Dept. of Justice decision has asserted that UC Berkeley is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act "because, in its view, not all of the free course and lecture content UC Berkeley makes available on certain online platforms is fully accessible to individuals with hearing, visual or manual disabilities." Therefore, rather than having to revamp all their freely available YouTube and iTunesU lectures at great expense, the University is simply removing them.
plink··on An Open Letter to the Uber Board and Investors
Thank God women don't work in dirty warehouses, historic bastions of misogyny. /s (had to edit and add the slash-"es" for the daft)
plink··on An Open Letter to the Uber Board and Investors
I sympathize, but as neither an investor in Lyft nor Uber. I personally can't wait for Uber to go public and soon before their fall. I perceive it as the greatest opportunity to short not seen since the housing crisis. Think of it: a $70B valuation based on no assets but data. Such blindness on the part of the tech-venture community is intoxicating to consider.
plink··on Why I don't believe in Uber's Success
I’ll imagine that scenario when I can imagine the day car interiors are manufactured out of one seamless, waterproof plastic that can be hosed-out in between rides, but are still more comfortable than a commuter subway or bus.
plink··on Why I don't believe in Uber's Success
So, in this aspect they operate exactly like a crappy, unlicensed cab company. Why don't they just make their logo the Jolly Roger?
plink··on Bouncing bomb
Louis XV
plink··on Amazon's customer service backdoor
If you are the officer of a company you own in the U.S., anybody can get your address from the annual corp. report.
plink··on 337 whales dead in Chile in one of history's biggest beachings
I'm guessing botulism is why not. Their research is acomplished inside the scientists' g.i. tracts.
plink··on Angie’s List Sues Amazon Local
I'm an Angie's List subscriber and signed no NDA agreement with them.
plink··on Want a Steady Income? There’s an App for That
Spot on. I agree that the example you cited evinces abuse and not interesting, long-form journalism. It's writing ineptitude.
plink··on The Coming Food Bubble
So, San Francisco is doomed revamp its grocery shopping?
plink··on ‘Unsubstantiated’ child neglect finding for free-range parents
Hey, at least since 1942 we eliminated the Nazi-like Bellamy salute.
plink··on The Man Who Tried to Redeem the World with Logic
logic, not hubris.
plink··on To Protect His Son, a Father Asks School to Bar Unvaccinated Children
There's more to alternative medicine than spoiled hippie-attitude. There's a canonized philosophy behind it with a pantheon of pseudo-thinkers who are assiduously studied in accredited university-like mills where one can become lettered toward a lucrative profession.
plink··on Monster Sues Beats Electronics, Founders for Fraud
That. letter. is. glorious.
plink··on Monster Sues Beats Electronics, Founders for Fraud
Is this from the same company that owns Greater Hong Kong?
plink··on The Cult of 'Killing It'
I particularly liked the juxtaposition of these three sentences:

>Instead, I think it’s much more likely that you’ll become disconnected from your support network, burnt out from exhaustion and frustration, unable to inspire your best employees, and ultimately fail. Kinda like I did. :) Even now, when I look for company’s to invest in...

Is this the kind of failure one experiences when losing at a board game?

plink··on Brokers Fight Rule to Favor Best Interests of Customers
Try that in court.
plink··on The Red Hourglass: Self-Experimentation with Black Widow Bites
No kidding. I couldn't very well post to a deleted comment. In that matter I apologize to you. It was sort of like flyswatting a hologram.
