I'm going to assume they are referring to any cloud backups of said devices. Since they are stored on servers managed by not you and are unencrypted, able to be accessed for "national security reasons".
The amount of money that has been floating around since 2020 has really exasperated the demand in the Rolex market. Dealers have been playing the "exclusive" game with customers pretending like stock is limited because of the popularity of the watches and the willingness for customers to pay above MSRP in the gray market. There has been a lot of talk recently on the web that this is starting to cool and the dealers will go back to selling to whoever wants to buy one.
Amazing. All of this truly wild, impressive technology and some of the absolute best engineers in the world, just to shove more ads in people's eyeballs. Sigh.
This is cool. I always knew that Matrix could theoretically support anything chat related, but I had no idea that Beeper existed and a company was formed around the idea. This is actually exciting to me. It sounds stupid, but I can't wait to ditch the Apple ecosystem.
I feel like the primary issue is the charging network and range. Tesla makes up for its lack of range with an extremely robust network. It doesn't seem like Ford is doing anything to reassure customers they will be able to charge their truck while on a road trip. Americans love to drive. You can get a ICE F-150 with a 35 gallon fuel tank, which will get you 500 miles of highway range. If you tell someone that the Lightning will only get 200 miles of range on the highway, generally they will find that amusing and make some sort of comment about how they don't want the government to force them to buy electric vehicles.
You'll never need that much power at home. Level 2 AC 240V 30-50A is fine for overnight charging.
The way Tesla Supercharging works is by using a large bank of batteries for the heavy bursts of power draw (>100kW) during the initial periods of charging when the battery is warm and at a low percent. The batteries at the station are backfilled with less current from the grid in the background during periods of low use. At least that is how I understand it.
but yeah, maybe trucks with huge batteries may be able to take advantage of it down the road.
This is basically the same situation in the US as well. It’s kinda sad that the sports industry across the board are all beholden to these companies now. Makes you really think about any close calls by the officials/referees. A LOT of money involved now, and it appears to be on a very sharp upward trajectory. Legalizing sports betting is one thing, but constantly throwing it in everyone’s faces is a whole different situation.
Just FYI, I live in the humid mid-Atlantic region of the US. My 2500sqft house has a 2-ton conventional AC system that draws about 1.5-1.7kW at full power. My Model 3 long range draws about 11kW while charging off of the Tesla Wall Connector (48A 240V, 60A breaker).
All teslas besides the SR Model 3 charge at 48A. At home with the Tesla wall connector, it’s a 240V charger, so roughly 11k watts, and they recommend a 60A breaker.
Lenovo still offers up to 5 years, next business-day onsite service for the Thinkpad line that is somewhat reasable. Unfortunately, the battery warranty is an additional line item. Usually the 3 year NBD onsite option with battery is about $250 for a T14 or X13.
So...with everyone blocking out ads (which I do hate and am pro-ad-blocker), how do journalists get paid? I'd personally rather pay for access to decent journalists (which I do), from numerous different sources. CNN being one of those sources (mainly for Fareed Zakaria, Anderson Cooper, John King, Jake Tapper). I would just personally rather do without the opioid constipation and mesothelioma lawsuit ads.
Just like the majority of things in life, moderation is the important part. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a teen, and took adderall to deal with it and get through school. In my 30s, I continue with taking it in reasonable doses, with breaks occasionally. It helps me focus when I want, and I have no known side effects except for a lack of appetite after taking it. 10mg still gives me the same effect as it did when I was a kid. Amphetamines are useful when applied correctly in the correct dosages. Like the majority of drugs out there. Step aside doctors, let the pharmacists do their jobs.
