phasevar··on Integrated Network Poller for Go Scheduler
Nice! Great to see the Go team aggressively going after performance.
phasevar··on Will you pay for Google Reader each month?
I would
phasevar··on Google Reader will be retired on July 1, 2013
Make that a lot of us need a good alternative. Google Reader is my most used app behind iTerm and Vim.
phasevar··on Google Reader shutting down
I depend on Google Reader for keeping up with Hacker News. I'm going to be in a world of hurt now. I use iReadG on the iPhone to browse headings and then star the Hacker News posts I want to read later when I get back to the computer.

iReadG has been great because it will download all the rss feed data and allow me to browser it and star items without an Internet connection which is great for those times on the road when there is no signal. I have no idea what I'll be able to use to replicate this functionality now that Google Reader is going down.

Very very sad.

phasevar··on A Golang Redirection Service for DNSimple
I ran into the same problem with the lack of timeouts on the standard library's http server. This is probably something that should be updated to have a reasonable value. Even if that value was 10 or 15 minutes it would keep more people from falling into this trap.
phasevar··on How We Went from 30 Servers to 2: Go
Excellent success story with Go.

Love this quote... "We also weren't sure if we would be able hire top talent if we chose Go, but we soon found out that we could get top talent because we chose Go."

phasevar··on Ask HN: What did you do for health/dental insurance when just starting out?
I went with Humana and pay $180 a month for a $2500 deductible. One person, non-smoker, in good health, in my 30's, single. If you have a family to insure, good luck.
phasevar··on Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me About Go
Just how much has execution time improved? I'd love to see some benchmarks.
phasevar··on Ask HN: Why I should attend to Google I/O?
I'd also love to know the answer to this. I'm a freelance developer (Node.js/Python/Go) in SF Bay area and am wondering if this would be a good event to attend for building relationships that will lead to more freelance development work.
phasevar··on Build Cross Browser Extensions with Javascript and jQuery
Does anyone have any experience with this? It's something I might be interested in using if it's a solid product.
phasevar··on Ask HN: Mar. 2 - Craigslist ads no longer indexed by Google?
How exactly does that make them jerks? It's their web site. They can decide to run it how ever they please.

You don't have to use their site if you don't like them.

phasevar··on It's time to rethink the freelance marketplace
Nice design. Looking forward to seeing it launched.
phasevar··on A painful tale of SEO, spam and Google's role in all
This is a great post that I'm sure rings true with many 'a webmaster. Time is money. There's no two ways about it. If you want a webmaster to modify their site in your favor, you should be willing to compensate them for their time in doing so.
phasevar··on Ask HN: What's the golang web framework with the most momentum?

phasevar··on English.rb: stop writing Ruby like Perl
This should be a part of the Ruby distribution.
phasevar··on Ask HN: Where should I work: Facebook or Google?
That's not really enough information for us to help you. The only differing factor you've given us is dollars and cents. So, in the absence of more information, I say go with the one that gives you more dollars and cents. Or choose the one that requires communicating the least amount of detail.
phasevar··on Ruby 2.0.0 Released
My favorite new feature. Keywords arguments. As a Python convert, I really missed those.
phasevar··on Short film shows a frightening future filled with Google Glass-like devices
The frightening part of this is unlikely. When was the last time you looked at something and lost control? I mean, besides in the Apple store.
phasevar··on Diablo in JavaScript
Cool, I guess. No instructions what-so-ever. Can we get some documentation on keys to use?
phasevar··on Ember.js or Angular.js?
I bought it. It was definitely worth the money.
phasevar··on Ember.js or Angular.js?
Ember.js
phasevar··on Ember.js 1.0 RC1 released
If you write single-page web apps, you owe it to yourself to check out Ember.js. The learning curve is a little steep, but once you get up and running you can't beat it for a client side MVC.
phasevar··on Ask HN: Best place to find a freelance coder?
You should put your contact details in your profile.
phasevar··on RubySource | Getting To Know RubyMotion With Laurent SansonettiRubySource
RubyMotion is exciting stuff if you're into Ruby. iOS development is the perfect compliment to your already hot web app development skills.
phasevar··on Show HN: Multiplayer Snake in Go
The controls don't react if you press them too quickly. How about queueing up key presses and then each additional step of the snake would dequeue a key press?
phasevar··on Show HN: Multiplayer Snake in Go
Does anyone else think the stages ramp up too quickly? How about cranking down the speed multiplier a little bit for each round? By the time I get a long snake I spend more time just not running into an outer wall than actually trying to corner my opponent.
phasevar··on Show HN: Multiplayer Snake in Go
Ok, so I figured out that you're always the red snake. Might want to point that out on the page.
phasevar··on Show HN: Multiplayer Snake in Go
Pretty cool. Although when you start, you have no idea which snake you are. I end up in the wall half the time because I suspect I'm the other snake.
phasevar··on Google's Plan to Snatch Shopping from Amazon Is Working
Nice library! Too bad it's so large. 32k for tooltips is a bit much. Split this up such that I can use just the tooltip style I want and keep it under 5k and I'd use it.
phasevar··on [dead]
This is an awesome use of a Pi! I've been meaning to buy one specifically for this purpose. Especially for when I travel abroad. Being abroad and being able to use my home IP address is a huge plus when it comes to dealing with banks, paypal, media services and probably all kinds of other services. It really sucks getting locked out of your own accounts because the company thinks you're not the account owner because of your IP address.

GoDaddy wouldn't even allow me to renew my domain names when I was in Asia. Had to setup a US proxy just to keep some domains from expiring. Yes, I'm in the process of moving them to Namecheap. :-)
