If your business doesn't work in a browser, I'm out.
It's becoming a big thing in some industries.
Usually when apple creates a new product they are very careful to give it a distinct look that is immediately identifiable from competitor products.

Entirely off-topic: Looking forward to seeing people who make 1/3 of what I make (and my salary is pretty average) telling me they are a winner because they snagged one of these babies on release day. We are so easily fooled...
This one is more marketing than a technical post worthy of HN.
Technically, isn't that what apparmor does?
Even if your numbers were correct, you have to remember these are the numbers we have _despite_ drastic measures taken.
And of course with the amount of hand washing and social distancing going on right now, I could see how it will have affected the "normal" flu deaths.
Edit: let me just add an answer to this statement
> Clearly that didn't happen, which invalidates the claims of the 'experts' that said it would
It did happen in Italy, which forced Sweden to mobilize the whole country to avoid it. And they almost failed.
Only today we had 2-3 _major_ osx issues on HN front page. For example

Most importantly, you don't want others get the protection they deserve because it works fine for your husband.
Unless you are an ios dev, why??
Good luck figuring out why your code doesn't work on your "genuine" 8051.
From my experience, as soon as there is some demand (this has hit HN after all) the resellers start selling fake or inferior chips. Doesn't really matter how common or cheap they are, its just hope things work now.
Edit: when we really have to buy from China, I always create a test rig to verify component characteristics. Easy for transistors and opamps, not so easy for CPUs.
You can support a subset of PCI with a fairly simple fpga implementation, but even the antique pci with its 33/66Mhz bus can be tricky to design with correct signal integrity.
This is about labels and sometimes artist not wanting to have their songs on spotify anymore.
This is about Tidal or whathername wanting more money from a dying market.
When they are done with open piracy they will move to other stuff.
Did you whistle a copyrighted tune in the elevator? You owe us money now.
(If you think I'm joking, look at Japan who jails musicians for 10+ years for playing covers at parties without paying royalties)
Because that would address the argument about cost and staying competitive.
But Haskells view on this topic is far far more opinionated than just supporting 'const'.
He slams go for not doing stuff the Haskell-way (e.g. pure code vs effectful code).
This is not how you approach new things
They are cheap and are supported by the FOSS toolchain. So you won't waste money or wrestle with crappy and/or expensive commercial tools, and can concentrate on learning FPGA.
Sony and Samsung have already started using much beefier hardware, now that their custom Asic is falling behind.
They also delivered Witcher 2, which - many years later - is still full of bugs and not playable on some HW.
Edit: technically, the arm part is also ASIC, but you get what I mean
He doesn't cancel things when he gets bored with them.
From what I have heard the "high pressure" has only affected ordinary people who can't get things like meds and equipment. Just look how they were affected by corona, so much worse than their neighbors.
I would highly, _highly_, doubt a person actually living there would consider the "high pressure" strategy a good thing.
Like silk road but for your open source fixes...
If google invented a pill that cures migraine they would sell it for only $.
---
But 10 years later someone would notice that the pills contain a small device that record everything that happens in your body and sent it to google. At the time the pills were created google had no idea what to do with this data, but now somehow they have become the world's biggest pharma. Nobody knows how...
And when confronted, google would see absolutely no problem with what they have done. They would maybe receive a €10.000 fine in germany and then go on.
Some people would start injecting Google Body devices ™, and someone would publish and article on connecting it to your Google Home device ™, which would become the top story on HN. Famous bio-hsckers would hold TED talks on the subject. MacWorld would for years write articles about apples significantly better solution that will very soon be unveiled. Doctors would warn about the risks, but in 2030 nobody listens to doctors anymore.
(You can see this happening, can't you?)
For everything else I already have emacs...
