overcast··on Earth is tearing apart beneath the Pacific Northwest
I've seen this movie, we need start preparing our Jaeger program with all of this AI capital floating around.
overcast··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
We can go even further, all of the mining companies! Or even further, and the dead stars that exploded!
overcast··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
ASML is the foundation. Without them, none of this would exist.
overcast··on Gloomberb
ARM only MacOS binaries?
overcast··on My second year without a job
Welcome to the club!
overcast··on Chemists Create World's Thinnest Spaghetti
As if angel hair pasta wasn't already an abomination! :D
overcast··on Daisy, an AI granny wasting scammers' time
Our record at the office was 47 minutes. FORTY SEVEN MINUTES keeping a scammer on the phone till they hung up. We never laughed so much at work in all of twenty years. :D
overcast··on Why is it so hard to find a job now? Enter Ghost Jobs
I've had a similar experience for a local job. I honestly thought it was my previous employer unknowingly reaching out to me initially through a recruiting agency. The job description was verbatim my resume. Got the interview, and ghosted.
overcast··on Why is it so hard to find a job now? Enter Ghost Jobs
This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for after 20 years experience. 100% willing to trade top salary for a life.
overcast··on Do AI companies work?
My guess would be using "AI" to increase/enhance sales with your existing processes. Pay for this product, get 20% increased sales, ad revenue, yada yada.
overcast··on The Architecture of London Pubs (1966)
Stay away from sports pubs/bars.
overcast··on We're in the brute force phase of AI – once it ends, demand for GPUs will too
AI will go the way of ASICs, just like bitcoin.
overcast··on BMW tries "motionless" wind tech on UK plant roof
Motionless to the environment and observers is the point here.
overcast··on A Logo on a Prosthesis Is Like a Tattoo You Didn't Ask For
Wow, that's pretty insane. Never seen that before!
overcast··on A Logo on a Prosthesis Is Like a Tattoo You Didn't Ask For
Read again.
overcast··on A Logo on a Prosthesis Is Like a Tattoo You Didn't Ask For
I'm not talking about brand badges, I'm talking about the tacky dealership badges they put on aftermarket.
overcast··on A Logo on a Prosthesis Is Like a Tattoo You Didn't Ask For
This is one of the first questions I ask when buying a car. Do you put that stupid badge on everything you sell? I make it clear no sale if they do. I bought the car, you made your money, I'm not advertising for you, end of transaction.
overcast··on Low Cost Mini PCs
Been using a Beelink SER6 Mini PC, AMD Ryzen 5 6600H, 16GB DDR and 500GB NVME for the last year or so with PopOS as my daily driver and loving it. With a portable monitor makes remote work great for $351 and $100 for the monitor!
overcast··on Producing fuels from 1,500 degrees of solar heat
Wasting investor money and using a disproportionate amount of the worlds energy to build chat bots.
overcast··on Insider trade on Splunk acquisition?
There is barely any open interest on any of the strikes. 127C specifically is only 420OI. 126C is 872OI, 125C is 778OI.
overcast··on How to build a IP geolocation database from scratch?
Step 1: Download Geolocation Database
overcast··on Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
Oh good, 128GB base storage, for 48MP camera + 4k@60 Pro Res video.
overcast··on Steam turns 20 today: “We had to try a lot of different things over the years”
Ticking time bomb? We're still talking about gaming right?
overcast··on Steam turns 20 today: “We had to try a lot of different things over the years”
What choice in the matter do they have? If devs aren't developing for Linux, what are they supposed to do?
overcast··on Steam turns 20 today: “We had to try a lot of different things over the years”
First Valve single-handedly saves PC gaming, then advances Linux gaming further than anyone has done in 30 years. Their work on Proton, and integrating into the Steam client is incredible.
overcast··on Barstool built an empire by swiping sports highlights
Irrelevant what anyone thinks about those companies. It's still theft.
overcast··on Show HN: Obl.ong, Free, quality domains for all
Can you imagine verbally trying to tell someone your new subdomain from these guys?
overcast··on Netflix will end its DVD service after 25 years
Yeh, Redbox.
overcast··on ChatGPT's API is so good and cheap, it makes most text generating AI obsolete
The API is a paid service, like all the other APIs.
overcast··on After Dark Screensavers in CSS
Maybe my memory fails me, but I thought for sure our home PC had it. I get the reason for it prior, but I swear that was a pretty early development as the personal computer became more prevalent in the mid 90s at least.
