Shameless plug here. I work at SkyPath (https://skypath.io) we monitor and collect CAT data from 1000's of flights in real time and predict CAT events with the help of an AI model. Pilots are extremely happy with our solution, we signed several of the major airlines in US and have active evaluation programs with several others.

I couldn't agree more. I use a similar setup and serving over 500K monthly users on this single machine. The only thing I would change is that in my experience docker-compose isn't stable enough and it's hard to run predictable workloads without resetting the machine from time to time.

I opted of K3S which give me two benefits. 1. Predictable stable containers running and also restarting all the deployment automatically and 2. If I do need to migrate to bigger cluster / AWS cloud, I got everything ready in my K8S yml files.

I love Postgres and use it for different projects but for inboxes.com which has a very high insert rate coupled with auto delete by time stamp Mongo up until now has been very kind to me. We sometimes have 1000 incoming emails per second and high usage of our API and it just works.

How do the likes of weTransfer deal with this problem? or any other of the free file sharing sites?

Not sure I need to be in that scale , I can leave with some downtime , I am not Google, and it's a low cost solution , re outgoing emails I can rate limit with some Redis counters and maybe ratio limits on send / received emails.

Can this scale to 10's of 1000's of users on a big server? I wanted to open an alternative to gmail where users can use their domains and open several mailboxes for a small fee but when searching for solutions I always end up with dovcot scaling which is hard or expansive. What I am searching for is some solution where the mailbox can store large attachments on S3 / b2 and maybe also email content and just index the inbox on a local DB / Redis. Is there something like this available open source?

The product could be improved, look at Monday.com for an example of what this product could have been. The difference is in the details ... small UI / UX details but very important.

I am trying to find ways to promote my new side project. The system tracks over 100K products in Amazon, handpicked by me and friends. Mostly manly stuff and we curate good deals we find manually.

Business model is of course affiliate commissions from Amazon. Very much like Camelx3 but without all the products I don't want to see.

Any ideas on how to promote this would be most welcome.
