I still occasionally run out of spoons, but historically I can often track it down to an accidental contamination event.

The paywall I was meaning was this.

However Broadcom didn't appear to like where/how they sourced the components and refused to sell them any more chips.

Though every so often you need to reinstall the remote access software
Was something I aspired to acquire, but never did.
Just running real-mode Win 3.1 in a window was a pretty awesome feat.
Win -> Mac conversion is annoying I agree. But once you've shrugged off the expectation of windows behaviours you'll be fine.
Cognitive dissonance is a thing with user interfaces.
Just a little different from the apple ones I use but really quite usable.
Trouble with PCs is you're comparing Apple kit with anything from cheap consumer gear by Asus, Dell, and HP with hilarious results.
Whilst they're all running similar chipsets the materials used are all very different.
If fact do any laptops have the glassy feel of Mac trackpads?
I know if I were going from my Lenovo and using a Mac, I'd have very negative feelings about the Mac, until I had three months continuous usage under my belt.
I've managed to get a set of mis-sold harddrives refunded with a delayed return so I could transfer the files off them.
I very much doubt that wish would facilitate that!
Fuse and, indeed 9P2000.u are both indeed complicated as hell, but appear to require it as their underlying FS is posix^Wlinux-based and thus a higgledy-piggledy API nightmare.
A good friend used to lament about the data they were entering was of very poor quality.
However the skews were somehow magically understood by the consumers of the data or maybe overall the day averaged out over time.
Data cleansing is a thing no?
> Given the very small numbers of events reported overall, there is currently a high level of uncertainty in the estimates of the incidence of this condition by age group.
If you put hardware designed to do the job of a terminal on a serial line, you expect software that is supposed to be command line based to just work (according to the issue in the post it doesn't work with the Linux VT console either)
Furthermore according to a similar issue; a contributor shows their hubris of ignoring terminfo.
https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/issues/3740
> Serial consoles basically date back to the days of hardware terminals, like a physical DEC VT220, when you could trust the information about columns and rows in the terminfo definition.
The default terminal size is 80 columns by 24 rows. Making an assumption the rows/columns of a terminal are zero is certainly surprising and unreasonable.
Some questions;
Why is fish not determining the defaults from termcap/terminfo?
Why is it using xterm codes indiscriminately?
According to https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/blob/a1fd9e1b851bd8... it knows what the defaults are, so it is obvious that the behaviour is overridden elsewhere.
So yeah. It's a bug.
