I think the author has stricter interpretation of the morse code tappings shown in movie which largely is just tappings. In actual fact there are a large variety of customized Morse code for wall/pipe tappings. One such is using loud tap for a dash and soft one for a dot. Same goes with another variant where a tap for a dot and a quick double tap for dash. The problem with all these is the tappers need to be very well train to produce a consistent tapping rythmn which is very difficult if you're not doing it daily let alone those shown in the movie doing it for the first time or after years of not doing it. Then on listener side need to have very sharp ear with probably perfect pitch and rythmn sense which we assume had some kind of strong musical background also equally well trained in Morse code tappings on pipe/wall and in those Morse code variant being used. In short, this will turn into "perfect shot" kind of youtube series...extremely unlikely but "common" in Hollywood movie depiction.

Now imagine there are many producers but only one of you. Every producers will automatically waive the deposit or collateral to get you to buy from them. This has always been the case in suppliers world. In some instance, supplier able to get collateral but in the form of insurance. Suppliers can't do that or else they lose the contract to supply. You should work in business especially finance side to see no such thing as suppliers' demanded collateral. Collateral may exists if suppliers are limited, e.g. during the chip shortage. Even then, they don't ask for collateral but downpayment deposit or partial payment upfront. Plenty of 2nd hand Macs which can last into 3rd to 5th hands. On non Macs, it is hard to find any matching brands that with closest maybe Thinkpads like those X2XX and X4XX series. They are not suppose to strike. They WILLINGLY signed their employment contract to work and get paid. Now halfway thru, they feel they not getting a better deal (remember the strike is purely on not getting better deal and has nothing to do with sweatshop conditions - no one pointing gun at them). So workers really renegate on their employment contract and holding everyone hostage to renegotiate a better employment contract. What union suppose to do is make sure employment contracts are fair, no anticompete clause, salary being paid on time, insurance coverage, and workers continued education. Instead everything hinges on more pay (so can enrich union fee) because excuse of now it is not a living wage. Those workers can go learn coding and immediately getting 50% salary increase. They can go get a plumber certification and get better pay. They didnt. They being lazy and just assume doing the same thing today automatic given increments. They are the people who is ok Apple reselling and rebranding old iPhone with higher price but just the same locking others out with their propietary app store garden and lightning cable). In Chicago for example, if you are non-Union cable installer able to do the job cheaper and faster, union workers can force you to strip all those cables because simply you are non union even if unionized workers did a bad job of it. That is union. I was once pro union. After I ditched that mentality, moving from blue worker class and now in those 1-2% class through education. It really open my eyes MAJORITY of unionized workers are simply lazy.
