oifjsidjf··on South Asian people undergo type 2 diabetes remission with low calorie diets
> T2D remission was achieved in 10/23 (43%), and weight changes were concordant with the RCT.

And yet so many modern doctors claim that T2D is "for life".

If you browse this "health sphere" on eg twitter you will find many, many such cases.

For some it takes longer, for some shorter, but even if some T2 diabetics don't go into full remission they atleast greatly reduce their insulin dosage.

In general the "secret sauce" seems to be weight loss and/or fatty liver/fatty pancrease healing/remission.

The funny thing is that this can be done both on a high-carb low fat AND on a high fat low carb diet (but fats and carbs must be MUTUALY EXCLUSIVE and NOT MIXED).

This is a point of much argument between vegans who claim that a high carb vegan diet cures T2D and keto/carnivore people who claim that low-carb diet cures T2D.

What they fail to see is that BOTH diets can work if you DO NOT MIX FATS AND CARBS (vegans are for a high-carb low-fat diet while keto/carnivores are for a high-fat low-carb diet and they're too blind to see that it's the MIXING of fructose and fats that the issue lol).

Obviously low-carb is the way to go since it's carbs that cause severe blood sugar spikes.

Fatty liver is primarily caused by large amounts of fat + fructose eaten at the same time, which is why T2D didn't exist until the last ~50 years until we started consuming so much sugar and fruits (since the modern sugar bomb fruits abominations didn't exist ~100 years ago).

This doesn't mean that fat is the issue, it's fructose.

Remember: agroculutural revolution was 10k years ago: before that there WERE NO sources of high carb foods, which means that until 10k years ago we were all eating a low carb diet.

oifjsidjf··on FDA Green Lights Cultivated Meat
Food is about nutrition, not taste.

Unfortunately the modern processed food industry and the human body's addictiveness to sugar put that up-side-down.

So now the ultra-processed food companies want to force their way in the meat market and destroying the real meat market under the guise of "climate friendlyness" while creating things that taste good but have totaly and completely unknown nutritional and health effects on the long term.

We already did have one food revolution in the last ~100 years.

The result? 10% of USA people have diabetes!

Truly a great "accomplishment" for the ultra processed food industry!

I'm not sure I want to have another such "revolution that will surely not cause the same problems, because trust our $cience".

oifjsidjf··on The “Great Reset” is too stupid to be a conspiracy

And this still keeps on happening...

oifjsidjf··on The “Great Reset” is too stupid to be a conspiracy
Do you know how to read at all? I never even mentioned those problems lol, you're pulling out of your ass things I never said.

My point was tied to NUTRITION not to what politicians do vs say.

You don't even know how to use "strawman" correctly.

oifjsidjf··on The “Great Reset” is too stupid to be a conspiracy
Do explain.

Eg for fake meat: if we don't know if saturated fats are good or not due to contradictive studies then what do we know of thousands of other substances in real vs fake meat which have not recieved not even 1% of the study/resources/research resoruces than "saturated fat good vs bad"?

How you can find that to be strawman or "wrong" is beyond me.

But then again, I've come to the sad conclusion that most researches in the field of nutrition and academia are complete morons incapable of grasping complexity.

oifjsidjf··on The “Great Reset” is too stupid to be a conspiracy
The problem is that these clowns have a lot of political and capital power so their stupid decisions will not blown up only in their faces, but in all of ours.

They have these reductionist beliefs that you can grow meat in vats and somehow have it be equally nutritious than real meat despite the fact that we don't even know basic things such as "are saturated fats bad or not" since each study contradicts the previous one.

Or setting delusional deadlines for electric cars without realizing it may not be possible and will just end up making cars 3x more expensive to own.

Or connecting to force untested vaccinations to everyone in tandem and when the results start coming in that the vaccines are not as safe as initialy thought they will just ping their media to "forget and move on" to the "next current thing".

So even if these clowns think that they're doing good they're gonna blow everything up due to their ignorance and naivety.

oifjsidjf··on Red meat is not a health risk. New study slams years of shoddy research
The types of fats in grain fed and grass fed meat are different, that is what I was saying.

By "carnivores" I mean people who only eat meat: they are all taking the stance that "saturated fat good, PUFA bad".

oifjsidjf··on Red meat is not a health risk. New study slams years of shoddy research
Grain fed meat is totaly different than grass fed meat.

Grain fed animals have very high saturated fat amount compared to grass fed ones.

Grass fed animals and wild boars and wild cattle have much more PUFAs than grain fed ones.

So the quality of meat went down drasticaly in the last 100 years.

Which is ironic since many carnivores are screaming "PUFA bad" in a reductionist fashion and at the same time say you "must eat only grass fed animals" lol.

oifjsidjf··on Nvidia, Lockheed team to build digital twin of the Earth for climate researchers
You don't get it: it's NOT a matter od "degree" and "resolution".

It's that the model will DIVERGE COMPLETELY in a way that you cannot predict because you can never fully take in account everything.

So a resolution increase of eg 100x will NOT help as the model will STILL DIVERGE.

Even if you take in account 100x more variables in a double pendulum or decrease the timestep by 1000x it will STILL DIVERGE sooner or later.

oifjsidjf··on Nvidia, Lockheed team to build digital twin of the Earth for climate researchers
You can never predict something as complex as the earth climate.

It's not a question of computing power: it's impossible to predict a complex system at all.

We can't even predict a simple double pendulum, now imagine a climate simulation: it's basicaly billions of double pendulums, all dependent one on another.

Even the smallest error in initial conditions or the models and even over a short period it will totaly diverge from what will actually happen on Earth.

This will be nothing other than a money sink. Invenst into clean tech, not these useless models that are incapable of predicting anything at all.

Eg how can you take in account a solar cycle which could change the energy that the Earth recieves more than any human made intervention/pollution?

You cannot. All of these models will fail totaly.

But politicians and the media love them for fear mongering, which is how the money gets pumped into this.

oifjsidjf··on They Paused Puberty, but Is There a Cost?
Males who take analbolic steroids can permamently supress natural testosterone production. There is an injectable that they can take after they stop taking testosterone which restarts the natural testosterone production, but some guys are not careful enough to do this which can lead to permanant damage -> this leads to low or no testosterone production, which in males causes depression since the male body is designed for a certain physiological dose of T in the blood -> if it's too low -> damage, depression, illness,...

Messing with hormones is one of the most dangerous things as you can:

a) Cause the body to shutdown the natural production, which can lead to the death/diminishing of the tissue that produces it.

b) You can cause a hormonal disruption system-wide, a domino like chain effect which can wreck havok on the body.

To believe that one can simple "adjust a bit of hormone A, then a bit of B" and that there would be no side effects is horribly naive.

But modern doctors are horrible naive, as anyone who has done reading a lot around this topic will naturaly come to understand.

First you get pill A, then you get pill B to manage side effects of pill A, then you need pill C to manage side effects of pill B, then you need a surgery because pill A supressed cholesterol too much which is a crucial building blocks of the body (50% of each cell membrane is cholesterol for example, so tell me again how cholesterol is bad), then you need pills D, E, F...

oifjsidjf··on A gut-derived hormone suppresses sugar appetite/regulates food choice Drosophila
I had the same experience when I tried keto.

The first ~12 days were hell, as if the devil possesed me, that is how strong sugar addiction is.

But then all of the sudden it was as if cravings reduced by 95% in just 24 hours around day ~12.

oifjsidjf··on Why are male testosterone levels falling?
A potential reason could also be fructose.

While humans ate tons of carbs since agroculutural revolution those carbs were ~95% glucose (starch), eg potato, grains, rice, beans,...

Only in the last ~70 years did we have an explosion in

1) sugar (50% fructose) and HFCS

2) fruits with a high sugar content: most modern fruits didn't exist ~100 years ago, and those that did had a fraction of fructose that modern fruits have.

Fructose is known to be the most destructive things you can put in the body (glucose is almost harmless compared to it).

Eg a study shown that replacing or even just replacing fructose with glucose had a massive improvement in fatty liver in children in just 9 days!

Fructose is metabolized like alchocol, which is why in the ~1970 or 1980 you start seing T2 diabetes and fatty liver in children, while before T2 diabetes and fatty liver was only a problem of alchoholics.

oifjsidjf··on Why are male testosterone levels falling?
Evolution doesn't happen in 100 years.
oifjsidjf··on Why are male testosterone levels falling?
How is endurance related to any of it?

Eg I have very high natural T, go to gym and I have zero cardio endurance, I never do cardio.

A possible reason are pills against pregnancy for women -> they then pee out the massive amount of estrogen due to pills -> that estrogen ends up in the water which ends up in the environment -> which ends up in our tap water.

oifjsidjf··on Why are male testosterone levels falling?
Why is this downvoted? Even even you eat modern organic food it problem has much less minerals and vitamins than it did 100 years ago.
oifjsidjf··on Is algae the new kale?
While real sea-grown algae might be light what will happen is the same as with modern animal and plant farming: animals are fed corn which makes their meat sub-par nutrientwise and most of the soil for plants is depleted.

So if we now grow algae in "reactors" their nutrient profile will be artificial and out of line of their natural counterparts, thus making them no better than any other modern highly processed food, so we might as well stick to rice and potatoes in that case...

oifjsidjf··on What is an eigenvalue?
Honestly I forgot the details, but basical the ENTIRE field of DSP stands on this fact.

Basicaly there exist some functions into which you can feed in sound waves and the output is guaranteed to still be a sound wave.

If you'd feed in a sound wave and if the function would corrupt it you would not be able to do any digital signal processing, since the output must be a wave.

Sound(wave) in -> Sound(wave) out, guaranteed to always be true.

oifjsidjf··on What is an eigenvalue?
I was blown away in my Digital Signal Processing (DSP) class that eigen "values" exist for certain systems in the form of "waves".

Basicaly you put in a wave made from multiple sine and/or cosine waves through some function f(x) and the output is STILL a wave, though its frequency, amplitude and phase might change.

Technicaly if I remember correctly this applies to all complex exponentials, since those can be rewritten in the form of e^(ix) = cosx + i*sinx.

This formula also beatifuly shows how rotations and the complex exponentials are connected.

So basicaly you don't just have eigen values, eigen vectors: you also have eigen FUNCTIONS (sine and cosine above are the eigen functions of f(x)).

DSP basicaly revolves arounds functions that don't "corrupt" wave-like inputs (wave in -> wave out).

oifjsidjf··on Big agriculture warns farming must change or risk ‘destroying the planet’
>> The report is signed by Bayer, Mars, McCain Foods, McDonald’s, Mondelez, Olam, PepsiCo, Waitrose and others. They represent a potent political and corporate force, impacting the food supply chain around the world. They are also, according to critics, some of those most responsible for climate mismanagement with one calling the report “smoke and mirrors” and unlikely to address the real crisis.

And there you have it.

These companies are focused on highly processed non-meat cheap foods and they want to push the small farmers out.

>> “It’s pretty disingenuous,” said Kuyek. “Small, local food systems still feed most of the people on the planet and the real threat is that the industrial system is expanding at the expense of the truly sustainable system. Corporations are creating a bit of smoke and mirrors here, suggesting they are part of the solution when inevitably they are part of the problem.”

Basicaly they want to destroy small farmers for their own profit, using greenwashing as an excuse.
