The reality is a degree isn't required its only one path of many someone can take. And often those with degrees eventually follow the same path those without went. The difference is they are four years behind in career progression and thousands in debt.
Have you ever actually participated in an RFP? Its not a two way conversation. Basically (A) gives a list of requirements and then (B) and (C) submit their "bids" to (A). (A) reviews the bids and picks one.
And yes the NDA does benefit Amazon, just like any business benefits from RFP. But non-blind bidding would benefit them a lot more if their desire was to maximize incentives offered.
Blind Example: (A) sends out a RFP for a service. (B) Bids to do the service for $5,000. (C) Bids to do the service for $6,000. Neither (B) or (C) know each others bids so they bid the lowest they can and still turn a profit.
Non-Blind Example: (A) sends out a RFP for a service. (B) Bids to do the service for $5,000. (C) Bids to do the service for $4,000 since they can see what (B) bid. (B) then bids $3,000. Both (B) and (C) are in a worse position than if they couldn't see each others bids.
Having more information isn't always helpful. Looks at what happened when regulation made CEO compensation in publicly traded companies public knowledge. CEO compensation rose exponentially.

I am sure there are some legal loop holes out there that is why the government can use the CSS.
But speaking of annoying things. Europeans talk so much trash about foreigners when they think they don't know their language, like an absurd amount.
I know personally, my grades from about 6th grade on dropped a lot because I stopped doing homework. I didn't need the extra practice to excel in the subject. Funny, because I remember teachers saying it will effect my work habits if I keep not doing homework but in a professional setting I have no problem completing my tasks and researching on my own time.
I personally think homework should be assigned based on individuals grasp of the subject. If the individual needs more practice assign it, if they don't... don't. It incentives learning while still providing resources for those who don't learn as fast or well.
For example where I live landlords can only raise rent by 10% every year for current tenants. The landlords can charge whatever they want for new tenants but they are limited for existing tenants.
The post says GC was already a problem in their old system.
They bluffed and got called on it. Instead of admitting to it like before and hoping for forgiveness they double down on stupid hoping it doesn't get picked up by the rest of the media.
Of course the golden age of factory work has dried up but trade skills aren't in a position to dry up like that. Even with all the hype around machine learning and automation the skilled craftsman trades won't be automated away anytime soon, in fact software developers themselves are likely to be automated largely away before the trades. Along with other fields of IT.
Some might argue technology will replace some trades like plumbing that uses self healing polymers but someone still has to place the plumbing, someone still has to replace it when the damage is greater than the self healing capacity. The people replacing it won't be the engineers designing the polymers it will be the plumbers. If we ever increase space exploration and colonization guess what will be needed? Trade skills...
