The article didn't leave the fact they were paid during pandemic out. Perhaps they edited it after you read it? 100% the world's rich are getting a bigger piece of the pie. What is it now 1/10th of 1% own 80% of the wealth? I read today that the post office has around 800,000 employees. I bet none of them are worried about jobs. Too many people there, on Earth, at Faceblock? These are big questions. Who knows how to answer them. I do know that I spend way too much time watching my robots clean, and wonder how long this can go on. ;) Everyone of us should feel blessed if we have a job. Let's act local, and forget about the ultra-wealthy. They won't save anyone. A couple hundred janitors could easily find work at facebook employees' homes in the area cleaning up (if that's what they want). However, likely the employees won't step up to hire them or train them, and likely Mr BJJ won't either.
When I go to a hotel, I never let any staff in. DND 24/7. I'm very clean, very organized, and very private. I don't really have to clean much when I leave, in fact if anything the room is likely cleaner than when I found it. This is how I was raised. I wouldn't pay for anything I normally wouldn't do, and my time is very valuable (a lot more so than money). AirBNB offers a better experience for me most of the time, but the locations and amenities of hotels are usually better. Hidden fees are awful, and let's not get surprised. You can contact the host before, and the barter system is in full effect on AirBNB. It's a lot less IRL with hotels (unless you're standing at the front desk). Anyway, I'm in the weeds too much on this. Consider yourself lucky you have the options and make a great memory.
This isn't a conspiracy at all. Back around 2000 old songs became more expensive in general, and a lot of the oldies stations dried up. The original cuts are still harder to hear in the version you remember hearing on the radio. Same with all digital stuff. If you understand how royalties and payments work in the music industry, this isn't a surprise.
Yeah, I've postulated this for a while now too. It seems that people that NEED to be with other people have a big hole in their soul. Listening to the facebook founder on Joe Rogan reminded me of this, with his bogus stories about all his friends, and how he does all this stuff with all his friends. No one with real friends talks like that. He sounded like a cult leader, or like a robot or something. It was extremely evident when he was saying things like, "Me and my friends just love to go out and wrestle around on the mats." referring to BJJ. It was so awkward. They are the ones that try to alone shame others as well. Jerks.
I don't know what's quiet about it. Every day, every week, every month, every quarter, every half, every year everybody wants progress from advancing productivity of their employees. New processes, new systems, new terms, new bullshit shoveled on people faster than they can join their next zoom. It's to the point where most people are just trying to keep their heads above water with constant meetings, 24x7 if they want. It's been out of control for a while now. People are not quietly quitting, they are suffering in silence and being overrun by their middle manager slave drivers. Fleecing is a nice way to put it. It's more like child abuse if you ask me.
Who got rid of this requirement? Who voted for getting rid of it? I'm going to google it...
The House of Representatives has voted to repeal country-of-origin labeling (COOL) for beef, pork, and chicken. Texas Republican Rep. Michael Conaway's Country of Origin Labeling Amendments Act of 2015 passed late Wednesday night by a 300-131 vote. Signed by Barack Obama into law.
Wouldn't the conflict of interest be that this person was paid by lobbyists for the article he wrote? I mean, I wonder what his defs. of conflicts of interest are? Sounds like they don't match mine.
It's not just a financial services enclave. The City of London proper is a whole other thing unto itself. For an interesting read, check out what it takes to become the Lord Mayor of the City of London. Quite a trip.
I often think about the old parable about a man walking down a road that comes to a fence. There is another man on the other side. He asks him to open the gate, and the man replies, "I'll open the gate if you can tell me why the fence is here".
I'm not saying that because we did it in the past, we should continue doing it. Knowledge is power, and we have concrete evidence that herd immunity works. We need germs to work as a species at the moment, so let's find a way forward that doesn't restrict air travel or blame the butterfly for the monsoon, right?
Ah, good to know, and thank you. Albeit, logistically carried out in large part through the mail. Would it be safe to say that they are intertwined, and the Department of Commerce is another made up beaurocracy, and if nixed the USPS would conduct the census?
This article is about China, so that's the context of this conversation. The point of the article is that the policy has lingering effects, which are being noticed now through the study of data points. Are you seriously suggesting a one child per woman policy, or is this in jest?
People have always travelled and shared their germs. Some of them probably worse than what we have now. I think it’s perfectly natural for 100s of people to get together and travel. Sailors are a good example of how this relates to the past. Going to Mars will be the future. We cannot isolate as tribes.
Wait a minute, are you suggesting the communist party should not be called out for it's brutality in the first sentence, or that's somehow biased?
You do realize that a majority of the reason China's population is declining is because of the one child policy, right? Do you think that communist instituted policy is brutal?
Look, I'm all for fairness in reporting, but you have to call a spade a spade at some point, don't you?
Yeah buddy. The security service is just like internal affairs for the USPS. It's actually pretty creepy inside the USPS they enter through different doors, they have catwalks with two-way mirrors, etc. The SSF and DCF or whatever they're called (been a while) are super creepy to observe. You are CONSTANTLY being watch when you work there, but unseen faces. There is a reason 'going postal' became a thing. Imagine that atmosphere!
