I'm not part of that consensus. A mill mills.

Colour the water but leave the taste - can choose the alert colour.

nutheracc··on I Love Go; I Hate Go
You've hit the nail on the head for me at my current place of work. The only alternative I have here is Scala, which I wouldn't choose, but higher quality ecosystem and community, and closer to Rust which I'm enjoying at home, so am thinking of doing the switch.
nutheracc··on I Love Go; I Hate Go
Yes, agreed, the Rust error messages are very helpful. Failure to understand the messages is a lack of familiarity with Rust, not a problem with the error messages.
nutheracc··on Programming Language Rankings: June 2016
Down-voted, haha. It's not an insult or criticism of Elixir, simply my preference for Rust. Delicate people :)
nutheracc··on Programming Language Rankings: June 2016
Ahead of Elixir on the chart, to my surprise, pleasantly.
nutheracc··on Probabilistic Filters By Example: Cuckoo Filter and Bloom Filters
I'm not up to arguing about this, but is that not related to the cuckoo filter (this implementation?) seeming to have a limit of four repeats? From the cuckoo description: "When a matching fingerprint is not found, the entry is definitely not in the filter."
nutheracc··on Conditional Action Programmer
Now try to find it in a real dictionary.

What's "an ask"?
nutheracc··on Which came first: the butterfly or the flower?
The chicken egg, to be specific. As in the egg containing a chicken, not an egg from a chicken.

Eh?

nutheracc··on Elections are bad for democracy
Could it be argued that an understanding of how x works is irrelevant, only the outcome matters, in that individuals who don't understand the workings of x are still able to tell if the outcome is positive or negative for them, and vote on that.
nutheracc··on Reusing Abandoned Big-Box Superstores Across America
Affordable housing could also refer to rural housing, admittedly ignoring context. I don't like the term, sorry. It's spun to be more positive than small housing which is more accurate.
nutheracc··on Reusing Abandoned Big-Box Superstores Across America
On the subject of affordable housing, not to be argumentative, what is it? Why is that term used? If there was sufficient housing, it would be affordable. Seems to me affordable housing means crap housing, thereby cheap in the current environment where there is insufficient housing. Therefore people should stop talking about affordable housing, and start talking about more housing.
nutheracc··on I set up the petition for London's independence. Here's how it would work
Eh? Because there isn't enough shock? Gently, gently. The idea is to avoid entirely alienating the losers.
nutheracc··on Results of Rust Survey 2016 – early draft for internal usage
Yes, minority is geographical, yet somehow it's come to mean not white male, a western view point. Not sure how female keeps getting classified as minority.

nutheracc··on British business ‘benefits massively from EU’
Judging by its removal, no.
nutheracc··on British business ‘benefits massively from EU’
This post is blatant political persuasion, not here for interest/information.
nutheracc··on OS X DNS cache reset script
Well now I have to ask... Presumably that's ascii art, and :) is an emoji. And :-) is also an emoji. So how many characters/rows before an emoji becomes ascii art? Also, I take it emoji is the ascii, and emoticon is the image. Also, emoji sounds plural to me - I take it it's not.
nutheracc··on Jessica Livingston’s Pretty Complete List on How Not to Fail
Seems I understood the subject matter perfectly clearly. You on the other hand are best described by the numerous references listed below.
nutheracc··on Jessica Livingston’s Pretty Complete List on How Not to Fail

nutheracc··on If Philosophy Won’t Diversify, Let’s Call It What It Really Is
Sounds like we're confusing philosophy as investigation with philosophy as a way of living.
