Chrome has gone through almost two rewrites of their core rendering stack since then. It's impressive work.
Although this itself is outdated, I remember enjoying "Life of a Pixel"[0] back when it came out.
i'm assuming if you know what the code is doing you don't need to audit them...
I see this as IBM/RedHat is a better steward/maintainer than other projects.
As for the ion cannon (signed and notarized apps) people do talk about this and question it. Apple's infamous walled garden. Europe is trying to fix this with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the USA is trying to fix this with the right to repair.
But you have to admit, in this instance with Zoom, it was used for a just purpose. Apple protected end-users against bad code from Zoom, which from your post, seemed complacent.
I don’t understand the “need” when you’re benefiting the public good?
I stand corrected, there is. Wishing you the best of luck here.
And I’m assuming your worker runtime is a process in a container on a shared node? What happens if the agent exploits your runtime?
Does it get access to the whole container? VM? Node?
Why should I ever choose this over MicroVMs? I have to design my architecture around your JS runtime. This isn’t an OS.
Is hating on Java really a dog whistle like you say?
