nubinetwork··on Pirating the Pirates
Reminds me of Ben Hur, it had that green sky tinge to it as well.
nubinetwork··on Footguns with Postgres "at time zone 'UTC'"
Oh believe me, I dislike mariadb for other reasons, like the fact that it sucks at picking indexes for queries.
nubinetwork··on Footguns with Postgres "at time zone 'UTC'"
The more I read about pgsql, the more I wonder why I would want to switch to it...

Granted, mariadb has weird time things too... but thats the tip of the iceberg between autoincrement with vacuum, vacuum in general, and that thread from the other day about bad migrations/version upgrades...

nubinetwork··on Replacing the old battery on rechargeable bike lights
If it killed the first battery, won't it just do it again to the new one?
nubinetwork··on Original Sony PlayStation 2 security chip 'broken wide open' after 26 years
Worked on my fat ps2 just fine, I think I even used a dvdrw disc to do it initially... my memory is a little sketchy, I remember that I need a hard drive adapter though because usb is sooooo slow.
nubinetwork··on ZuckOff Is a Free App That Sees Meta Glasses Before They See You
So google can already figure out if you're being followed by an air tag, why can't they natively scan Bluetooth for smart glasses and do what zuckoff does without a third party app?
nubinetwork··on You can defeat the Dream Devourer from Chrono Trigger using an int overflow
I play it on average once a year, the full 6h playthrough.
nubinetwork··on Disney+ changes subscriber agreement to allow ads on every plan
Ads are bad, but all the bad AI translations on CR were somehow okay?
nubinetwork··on You can defeat the Dream Devourer from Chrono Trigger using an int overflow
The elixir glitch works on a lot of bosses...
nubinetwork··on Be alert: targeted attacks on prominent Rustaceans
> execute another command (for example, via putting a command on the clipboard).

It's called clickjacking.

nubinetwork··on Fujitsu launches made-in-Japan next-generation CPU FUJITSU-MONAKA
If they didn't mention SVE2, I wouldn't have known either... that would make it arm9 at the earliest...
nubinetwork··on GitHub is having trouble counting things
My phone consistently says that I have one more update than they'll actually let me download... what that one phantom app is, I'll never know...
nubinetwork··on Original Sony PlayStation 2 security chip 'broken wide open' after 26 years
This is the one you can't mechapwn, right? Can we do anything with this information?
nubinetwork··on An update on Wayback Machine access
Impatience and annoyance
nubinetwork··on An update on Wayback Machine access
> Is there a chance you could clarify the “not working” bit?

I see anubis, 90% of the time I close the tab before it finishes.

nubinetwork··on Texas police dept ordered closed for failing to provide any community benefit
Unless most of them have already been deleted, I've seen worse...
nubinetwork··on Amazon vs. Perplexity – U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
Interesting that they say perplexity doesn't use a user agent, because they definitely do when they fetch my robots.txt every 5 minutes...
nubinetwork··on Why is Google still serving dodgy ads?
> Why do you keep reporting them, when clearly that does nothing?

Because some of us don't want to give in to the dead internet theory yet.

nubinetwork··on I'm being cyberattacked by Tesla, Inc
Most distributed bots won't follow a 301. If 404/400 don't work, just 444 them, they're not worth giving back a response, especially on a personal website.
nubinetwork··on I'm being cyberattacked by Tesla, Inc
> erm... @ downvotes

> Hijacking the highest ranking comment

Gee, I wonder why...

nubinetwork··on LG denies TV spying claims, says tracking and snooping concerns 'not true'

nubinetwork··on Omarchy Is a Power Grab
If these companies wanted to donate to OSS, they would have already. They've made their decision.
nubinetwork··on Thelio Mira AI Linux Workstation: 192 GB GPU Memory
Nobody seems to have noticed that they dropped their ampere-based thelio.
nubinetwork··on Understanding the recent DDoS attack against Read the Docs
I'd love to see China and Russia sued for hammering my personal websites for the past 20 years... will it ever happen? Hell no, LOL.
nubinetwork··on Jacob Coxon resignation appears to be a PR stunt for AI regulation
> "According to grok"

While its probably true, I didn't ask a clankers opinion about other clankers.

nubinetwork··on Understanding the recent DDoS attack against Read the Docs
You can tell Claude to clone from github for Linux stuff all you want... it's still going to try web, and fail, before doing what you asked it to do.
nubinetwork··on DaVinci Resolve 21.1
Is it still a PITA to install? If I have to install a custom Linux distro to be able to run your app, it's not a good time.
nubinetwork··on Leaving VMware just got harder after Broadcom pulled VDDK downloads
> People talking here about Proxmox make me laugh.

We have a (what I thought was) large nutanix setup at $dayjob for epic emr... we have like 10-12 sysadmins for ~500 servers (end user apps, and backend infra like Citrix), and even that seems like a lot.

nubinetwork··on Leaving VMware just got harder after Broadcom pulled VDDK downloads
Where do you work that a single sysadmin manages 3000 VMs?
nubinetwork··on Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU: desktop-class mobile gameplay with AI-native graphics
Panthor is supposedly pretty good, it's no rtx, but people do game on them.
