Care must be taken to avoid potassium overdose if supplementing with potassium. Sodium chloride is well tolerated on the order of no more than 20 grams per day spread out over the whole day.
Elevated levels of autophagy after fasting result in the elimination of senescence-like neurons. Individual neurons of this type can negatively influence the extracellular environment and may promote induction of the same phenotype in surrounding cells, as well as driving aging and age-related diseases.
(On a side note this guy owns some really interesting web domains)
The abolitionist project is hugely ambitious but technically feasible. It is also instrumentally rational and morally urgent. The metabolic pathways of pain and malaise evolved because they served the fitness of our genes in the ancestral environment. They will be replaced by a different sort of neural architecture - a motivational system based on heritable gradients of bliss. States of sublime well-being are destined to become the genetically pre-programmed norm of mental health. It is predicted that the world's last unpleasant experience will be a precisely dateable event.
Two hundred years ago, powerful synthetic pain-killers and surgical anesthetics were unknown. The notion that physical pain could be banished from most people's lives would have seemed absurd. Today most of us in the technically advanced nations take its routine absence for granted. The prospect that what we describe as psychological pain, too, could ever be banished is equally counter-intuitive. The feasibility of its abolition turns its deliberate retention into an issue of social policy and ethical choice.
Keep an eye out for faint orange "oil spills" on the surface or fizziness in the final product. Toss it if you encounter those and start over.
I agree that the war for independence should not be called a revolutionary war for the reasons you stated. A revolutionary war has not happened yet in North America.
> it had little effect on who was on top in American society
I'm not sure what this means
- talking heads on television stop telling people how to rationalize their diminished standard of living (resentment of the status quo will grow when people start to think independently)
- fuel shortages (massive disruption to lifestyle)
- electricity shortages causing blackouts or brownouts (massive disruption to lifestyle, damage to expensive household appliances)
- food shortages
Actually even this is not enough; there are so many countries that fulfill these criteria and are still terrible. I guess this what the second amendment was made for.
Why would those in power ever allow a change to a voting system which effectively maintains their existing power structure?
The metrics that matter are: Min, Max, Average, Median, 25th percentile, 75th percentile
The same metrics need to be used to measure jitter.
Only then can you draw some pretty accurate conclusions about link quality.
In high humidity by wearing a shirt doused in tap water you cool down by heating up your t-shirt. This method does not work if water comes out of your tap already hot. This only happens rarely. In dry environments evaporative cooling helps but it is not necessary to be effective.
I recommend using shirts made of elastic breathable material such as under armor shirts for comfort. Cotton tends to stick to your skin extra and feel really nasty.
As David Graeber wrote in “Debt,” “Nixon floated the dollar in order to pay for the cost of a war in which he ordered more than four million tons of explosives and incendiaries dropped on cities and villages across Indochina… the debt crisis was a direct result of the need to pay for the bombs, or, to be more precise, the vast military infrastructure needed to deliver them. This was what was causing such an enormous strain on U.S. gold reserves.”
For the first time in history, the world was in a pure fiat standard. The dollars held by central banks across the globe lost their backing, and there was a geopolitical moment where U.S. dominance was called into question and where a multipolar financial world was a distinct possibility. Adding even more pressure, in 1973 the Arab petroleum exporters of OPEC decided to quadruple the price of world oil and embargo the U.S. in response to its support for Israel during the Yom Kippur War. In just a few years, a barrel of oil rose from less than $2 to nearly $12. Faced with double-digit inflation and declining global faith in the dollar, Nixon and his Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger came up with an idea that would allow them to keep “guns and butter” going in the post-gold standard era and alter the fate of the world.
In 1974, they sent new Treasury Secretary William Simon to Saudi Arabia “to find a way to persuade a hostile kingdom to finance America’s widening deficit with its newfound petrodollar wealth.” Simply put, a petrodollar is a U.S. dollar paid to a petroleum exporter in exchange for oil. As a Bloomberg report says, the basic framework was “strikingly simple.” The U.S. would “buy oil from Saudi Arabia and provide the kingdom military aid and equipment. In return, the Saudis would plow billions of their petrodollar revenue back into Treasuries and finance America’s spending.” This was the moment that the U.S. dollar was officially married to oil.

> One of the challenges of the pandemic period is the degree to which science has become intertwined with politics. Arguments about the efficacy of mask use or ventilators, or the viability of repurposed drugs like hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin, or even the pandemic’s origins, were quashed from the jump in the American commercial press, which committed itself to a regime of simplified insta-takes made opposite to Donald Trump’s comments. With a few exceptions, Internet censors generally tracked with this conventional wisdom, which had the effect of moving conspiracy theories and real scientific debates alike far underground.
I don't trust the specs of the parabolic antennas on the market. They are supposed to be better but I have heard from multiple reviewers on multiple products that their specs are wrong and they simply don't deliver high gain at low frequencies when advertised to be tuned for 4G LTE. I think it is because to cover 4G LTE bands fully you need to support a ridiculously wide range of frequencies from 600 to 2200 MHz. My low frequency LTE yagi is awesome for difficult wooded areas. It can shoot through at least 3 miles of trees.
I think your Proxicast peaks at 11 dB gain and you need to check which frequencies that's valid for. With such a large frequency range spec'd on that you can't be sure you have high gain on all frequencies. It can drop off drastically on important bands.
That's why I have a dedicated yagi for low frequencies and a similar antenna to what you have for ~2 GHz bands.
I found through experience the best proxy for correct antenna aim is an upload speed test. And the best way to determine aim is by using cellmapper.net and calculating a compass bearing from your location, then using a compass (app) to aim your antenna. Not the more high tech metrics reported by your modem like RSSI and link quality. They can be very misleading in general and especially when the link is idle.
Also, from the wiki, in 1986, Winnie Mandela, then-wife of the imprisoned Nelson Mandela, stated, "With our boxes of matches, and our necklaces, we shall liberate this country", which was widely seen as an explicit endorsement of necklacing. Lovely.
Ah, yes. Necklacing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing

In reality the group of people that endures that storm will go extinct or be conquered and balance will be restored in nature automatically.
You can't own medium or larger sized boat or trailer if you don't have a truck to pull it with without jumping through massive hoops like borrowing, renting one, or putting together a dangerous contraption on a vehicle not legally rated to pulling that weight.
We need more nuclear power plants sequestering atmosphere carbon dioxide into liquid fuels. My job sites in rural counties lose power regularly in sunny calm wind conditions. I would be utterly helpless and stuck regularly if my vehicle strongly depended on the electrical grid.
Liquid fuels carry so much energy per liter I can store a massive amount of energy in a compact package. This is more important to me than pulling a 55 foot semi trailer filled to the brim with 18650s to have enough energy to tow. I cringe at the cost of lithium ion batteries to meet my energy requirements. God forbid those batteries freeze! Now my precious expensive batteries are destroyed.
We will see electric trucks in the near future on a very small subset of routes where reliable electrical connectivity is available.
